    To James Frazer

    A letter delivered to James Frazer. There is a high likelihood the letter would be first intercepted by Legion personnel due to the recent prohibition, therefore high-ranking Legion individuals may also have access to it.

    Magus James Frazer,

    This is Arcanist Caranos. I sent you a Sending before, but you did not respond. I hope this letter has better luck.

    I wish to apologize for your detainment, and for you to know that I did not do such voluntarily, nor was I sanctioned by the Enclave--my colleagues are now infuriated at me. But there were factors outside of my control involved in the decision. Those factors involve the Black Hand.

    I can explain everything, but in person. I understand that you likely do not wish to meet with me, after our previous encounter. However, I will be alone, and would not oppose you bringing guards for your defense. We could meet on neutral ground, such as at the Exigo Trading House.

    I believe it is important that you, and your superiors, understand the full story.

    Regardless of whether it had been intercepted or not, James forwards a copy of the missive to the Sundren Comfort.

      Emiliana receives the note from James and the forwarded letter from the Red Wizard. The Legionnaire's nose wrinkles with disdain, and she soon leaves her suite in order to find the be-goggled Hand of Mundus.

        A curt reply missive, inked upon Legion stationery and affixed with Legion seals, arrives at the Enclave. The document is for "Arcanist Josirah Caranos."

        Magus James Frazer has been instructed to disregard all forms of communication sent to him by you. Your violent actions towards him, a servant of the State of Sundren, are reprehensible and inexcusable. The Legion has no desire to meet with you, and your ban from our premises will not be lifted.

          All I wish is to talk, and explain things. I have no preconceptions that the ban will be lifted. That is not what this is about. It is about providing the truth of things.

          If that is not enough, then I will risk saying this: I have information on the Black Hand's operations.

          If you still refuse, then so be it.

            The Legionnaire snorts a laugh after reading the missive. "I am sure she does..." Emiliana mutters before reaching for her quill and another piece of Legion stationery. The sealed response is then couriered to the Enclave again.

            I will be blunt: I do not trust your motives, and I do not trust you to tell the truth. In short, I do not trust you, period. If you wish to explain yourself, then you will do so on my terms:

            -- You will be escorted to the Gate of the Sunderer by a contingent of Legionnaires.
            -- You will consent to having all wards and magical items inspected.
            -- You will consent to having all magical auras stripped or subdued for the duration of the meeting.
            -- You will consent to standing in a Zone of Truth during your explanation and subsequent questioning.

            There will be no negotiation involving these terms. If you agree to them, then I will make the necessary arrangements. If you do not agree, then do not waste my time again.
