My good friend,
There has been a great deal that we have experienced in this land. We fought together against the armies of Xithis, brought Black Hand and foul orcs to sunder, and more importantly found a place we have been able to call home, even if only temporarily.
I confess a mild degree of shame in writing this letter for I was unable to provide the home I promised for my family and my friends. I also bear a degree of shame that I was unable to give the goodbyes deserving to a friend such as yourself. However, I am a family man first and a knight of the Fey Queen second I'm afraid. I write to you now from the safety of Neverwinter, where my family is staying with a long-standing friend of mine.
However, while I have been released from service by our kind-hearted queen, my position must be fulfilled and I can think of no one better than yourself to fill it. Protect Maia my trusted friend. Protect our beloved Fey Queen. I ask for much I know. To this I can only apologize and plead for the understanding that you alone bear the power and the drive necessary to fulfill this task and take my place.
Someday, perhaps I may be able to return and hopefully on the soil we called home. On this day, I hope to see you once again, our beloved Fey Queen, and all our friends and allies.
