  • Meriadoc, Evelyn

A letter is delivered to the estate baring a powerful compulsion spell that would blah blah blah lots of arcane stuff, for Evelyn's eyes only.

    Dear Meriadoc E.

'Some recent reports have you investigating matters pertaining to corrupt legionaries in Port Avanthyr, this leads me to believe that you're a woman who likes to get things done. Recently a rather shady individual approached me in my place of business with hopes of convincing me that illegal drug trades through your port was a necessary and very reliable means to secure future revenue for my enterprise. I was quite insulted by the notion and was sure to send him away, tail tucked neatly between his legs and his ego sorely bruised, any businessman of the right mind would assuredly do much the same.

However I cannot help but turn the notion from my mind and wish to convey my sincerest hopes that the beloved Port of Avanthyr remains a paragon example of honest business and wish to pledge some support toward your house. I would like to personally meet with you at your leisure that we might conduct a deal, and cement a future in the valley for your house and ensure that these smugglers and vagabonds do not remain in Sundren for long.

To reply, merely write your letter on the blank associated parchment provided, seal the envelope and the rest should take care of itself. I eagerly and humbly await your reply.

In the shadowed corner of her private sitting room, Evelyn pens her reply with a crystal tumbler of amber liquid close at hand.

    Dear E.,

I wish to thank you for your correspondence and loyal words personally and consent to a meeting, provided you afford me the professional courtesy of your name and business. I'm sure you can understand that in this precarious environment, identifying who amongst we tradesmen in the Port can be counted among the trustworthy - and who harbors the rats in our midst - is paramount to my cause.

If you do not wish to visit the Hold directly, please furnish the address and time of your desired meeting along with your identification.

    Sincerely yours,

    Evelyn Meriadoc.
The message is summarily folded and sealed.
