Regarding the matter of the apparently random appearance of Banite portals in the Sundren Valley. As requested I sought out one such portal and attempted to analyze its nature to the best of my ability.
The portal was located in the Tyr's fork vicinity, and a few zombies seemed to have wandered to that side.
The origin of the portal was a graveyard, inhabited only by zombie-like creatures and Clerics bearing the symbol of Bane. Both were easily dispatched, and I find it hard to conceive that such neophytes were capable of conjuring such a portal alone.
I analyzed both sides of the portal by means of a Detect Magic. The power of the portal is quite staggering, though I'm by no means an expert on this kind of Conjuration - detailed results are attached. (Spellcraft roll: 39)
