(( in regards to what I spoke to DM Machiavelli about.. ))
Left on the magician's workbench is a note addressed to Loremaster Doroban Karlston, leader of the temple of Oghma. Inside it reads:
Good day to you, Loremaster,
Allow me first to thank you for taking time from your schedule to read this letter. My name is Lyle Alexander, and due to you being busy recently, I was not able to catch you in person.
What I wanted to speak to you about was a rather interesting matter, and I do hope you will take my proposal seriously. I am not a follower of Oghma, as yourself, but a devoted Tormtar. Recently I've come to greater understanding of the ways of Oghma, and His stance on knowledge is commendable and respectable; which is exactly what I write to you now regarding.
As I'm sure you're quite aware of, Sundren is going through rather tough times. With Luskan at the borders and Banites in the countryside, it's hard to tell what is truly the bigger threat. It is in my personal belief that the key to solving these problems is not through military might - in fact, I do believe that physical altercations are merely exacerbating the problems.
I don't have the answers to solving the problems, but I think I have come across a solution which may help us all along that road. That solution is education. Mass education; amongst the poor, the downtrodden, the orphans, for everyone. Imagine this, if you will, Loremaster..
Envision Sundren united, if you will. Hard to imagine, yes, but please, take a moment to think about it. Think about Port Aventhyr, no longer plagued with the destitute, but with citizens with the knowledge and means to pursue their own destines. Think about the children.. the orphans, no longer at the mercy of life, but enhanced and challenged by it, making lasting contributions to our society in ways we cannot yet hope to imagine.
Loremaster, I do not expect this to be completely successful and without trial and tribulation. But know this; I will donate and sacrifice everything I can to see such a plan come to fruition.
It is while we are alive that we receive the chance to accomplish something of immortal importance. If we make no attempt, we are truly wasting our lives.
Don't let lives of our people waste away, Loremaster. I hope to hear from you soon.
Please leave a reply with one of your clergy. I will be around within the next few days to return upon you the Gnoll rubbings you requested.
May the Gods watch over you.
