A Letter for the Corps de Grāce

The following letter arrives at the Corps de Grāce building in Sestra.

Members of the Corps de Grāce:

Several incidents have been reported to the Legion in which members of the Corps de Grāce have either turned a blind eye to criminal activities or have actively participated in criminal activities.

The Legion would like to remind the members of the Corps de Grāce that they have been entrusted with protection duties of Sestra as per an agreement with the Legion. As such, the Legion expects the Corps de Grāce to uphold the laws of Sundren Valley and to aid the Legion in upholding them. Members of the Corps de Grāce who break the laws or aid others in breaking the laws will be punished the same as any one else in the Valley.

Please take note of the following law regarding necromantic activities:

Necromantic Animation is defined as the raising of spirits, bodies, or outsider presences through necromantic magics. Unless authorized in writing from the Hands of Mundus for the purpose of research or criminal investigation, necromantic animation is unlawful in all of Sundren. Likewise, the summoning of creatures from evil planes is unlawful in all of Sundren.

The Legion hopes that no further explanations will be needed regarding the expected conduct of Corps de Grāce members.

Reply to the Legion's Letter

To Salararius Emiliana Blackwell:

In reference to your letter, while there have been recent suspicious incidents in Sestra, the Corps is unaware of the involvement of any of it's members as perpetrators.

We are investigating several incidents which may involve such activity. To aid in these investigations, please forward to our Headquarters details of the incidents you mention.

Congratulations on your promotion. I was unaware that former Directeur Reliun had retired.

While I will be more than happy to speak with you in person regarding the incidents mentioned, the Legion does not forward its reports to local militias.
