  • Triumvirate Incient Report

*Written in a labored humble heavy hand, testament to infrequency with the quill*

Lord Arbiters, May the Three find you in good health, for I bring to your attention an incident of great disturbance while venturing with my charge Gryffen EagleBow, Paragon of Torm.

Upon breaching the pit of the Goblin caves, the air seemed thick with a dark rite. A thrum rattled the ground dancing old bones and chanting in an abyssal tongue could be heard. The source was an old shrine with a large statues which held the likeness of some ancient knight or warrior. It had been obscured by the passing of time and vandalism of the current inhabitants - goblins.

The goblins were engaged and dispatched, however, the thrum continued, and if human emotions can be attributed to environ, the thrum was pleased by the conflict . A Banite revealed himself, indeed offered himself to us. He wanted us to run him through, the desperate light of a madman in a fervor in his eyes. We attempted to apprehend and bind the villain, but he erupted into a gout of blood and flesh, disassembling in our hands. The thrum increased like a roar, the blood vibrating into some demonic symbol. The blood then drained into the very stones, though "drank" would be a more apt descriptor.

The thrum ceased, leaving a malevolent lingering presence. Sated, pleased, but not for long. If the vile blood of evil beings give sit such succor, especially that shed by the righteous, it stands to reason that the blood of the good, innocent or virtuous could appease the entity of that place. It is my fear that such an offering could release that contained there in spirit and bring it wholly into the realm of Man. Fortwith, we departed lest we rouse the entity further and reported to Patriach Melchior. His reprimand was fair, and simple. Violence begets violence. The enemy grows on righteous predictability, and thus, a new approach must be taken to this menace. I petition a general warning for the virtuous to avoid bloodshed in that cave complex. Indeed, restriction from entering be proclaimed.

Further, upon a training expedition some days later near the caves, my band was accosted buy a vampire with lesser undead in thrall. Shortly thereafter a large demon upon an equine steed of fire and smoke observed our struggles against the undead. It did not act. It let us go. A taunt. It has thrown down the gauntlet. It wants the Alliance's attention. Additional witness to the events was a jack-a-dandy mage traveling under the name of Claudius, and a troubled returned Veteran from distant Thayvian conflicts known as Aiden. Both men demonstrated exemplary valor on the field and should be treated as heroes.

In these matter I await your further instruction.

    Your Loyal Servant in Torm,

    Gram'pus, Knight Errant.

      Patrol Report
      Location: Second Wind Inn

After a routine Patrol along Pioneers Way, shelter was sought from the elements at the campsite of the second wind inn. The camp was shared with an unusual woman of elfin origin (OCC footnote Ranahlee). She appeared to have the development of a toddler - inquisitive, literal and innocent. Given that she could change into a Panther (something that advanced a confrontation), I would suspect that she is perhaps an animal taken humanoid form. Perhaps it is illusion.

Upon light conversation, we were joined by a pair of what appeared to be star crossed lovers. Yet their conversation turned to that of a cat playing with a mouse, and of shrouds, and it was then that their intent became clear. Malevolence. Using the sight, something i usually refrain from, i was overwhelmed by an evil that can best be described as Raw and prieval.

As the fiend held its hand to the elfin woman, I commanded Stop. The beast revealed itself as I and my companion Gryffen Eaglebow placed ourselves between the woman and the fiend.

'Twas at such a time a legionnaire named Chang a faithful to the Lady of Mysteries no less, happened upon this scene. The elfin woman revealed herself to be a changeling and took the form of a panther whose instincts were to enact violence. A general Melee was joined by all. I fell back pressed to an inch of my life. Gryffen held fast, but was caught in the radiance of Chang's divinely channeled banishments.

The demon fled, its succubus consort vaporized. Gryffen was taken by a wall of swords surrounding Chang, but also gratefully restored to life by the same hand. The panther woman roamed the yard before settling down to of all things knit. That one is, I am sure a beast - living only in the present.

Might I take this time to Recommend to you the valor of Gryffen Eaglebow, and name Chang as a friend to the Arbiter Alliance's cause.

Of the Panther-elf, I suggest we afford our watchful assistance as necessary and guide her in the transition from wild beast to civilian.

      Yours in Torm,

      Gram'pus Knight Errant
