*The scroll-case is a black-dyed leather case ribbed with nine cold-iron bands and is secured with a cold-iron clasp that has been sealed with crimson wax (colored with blood shed during flogging) and stamped with a small seal that is the nine tailed whip of Loviatar. The entire scroll-case smells of incense, oil, ash, coppery vitreous fluid, and leather dye. Duplicate copies, written by hand in the blood of the author on the soft, flayed hide of an anonymous 'donor', are sent to the eight major temple locations across Faerun: Athkatla, Calimport, Mulmaster, Saerloon, Selgaunt, Telflamm, Waterdeep, and Westgate.*

I humbly beseech you, the heralds and faithful of our Lady of Pain, to entertain my request outlined upon this, my own flesh and blood, in reference to expanding the ever-reaching embrace of our Mistress, Lady Loviatar. The Sundered Valley that lies to the south of Icewind Dale is a land of opportunity, open borders, and minds seeking enlightenment and direction in a new land. I have been wandering it's many forests, hills, and towns and have interacted with many who populate the borders of this land and see much potential for the praise and glory of our Lady and Mistress. I have also seen a lack of attention and dedication given to those deities that hail from the shadowy side of the coin and, with the exception of Umberlee, there are no temples dedicated to the devout service of the true gods and goddesses of power.
Without sweetening my words or muddying them with double talk, I simply seek financial and clerical support for erecting a structure in which we can give proper respects to our Mistress. I see this land as a land of clean slates and new beginnings with opportunity for expression and impact, so I would request that the building style be traditional in only the heart of the cathedral. The cells, dungeons, and antechambers with adjoining catacombs would be required assuredly, but for the main floor and place of worship and the outer skin of the great hall, might I suggest a more appealing visage to lure in those that would not normally partake of our Lady's caressing whip? I do have ideas and foresee a great future for our Lady in this place, but time is of essence and the zealot followers of Torm, Helm, and other deities of the light are establishing footholds as you read my words.
Please consider this effort to be of utmost importance in the great scheme and works of our Lady Loviatar and contact me with your reply as soon as is convenient for you. It is my hopes that this temple in Sundren will become the 9th tail of the whip of our Beloved Scourge on the face of Faerun. In the meantime I will scout out the more rural parts of this valley and find a place appropriate for our great body to begin its work.
