  • Scrollcase Delivered to Sundren Jail

*The scroll-case is a black-dyed leather case ribbed with iron bands and secured with an iron clasp that has been sealed with crimson wax and stamped with a small seal that is a whip that radiates out from the handle in a spiral of three turns and ends in a three-barbed tip and the entire scroll-case smells of incense, oil, and some other odor that is undefinable*

Pardon my directness at skipping the formalities and turning pointedly to the business at hand, but I am not one to waste the time of those that have more important manners on which to attend. I am aware of recent activities that have begun to populate the Sundren correctional facility and had observed a certain missing function of your system that you might find useful with certain inmates under your watch.

I offer the services of information extraction, loyalty testing, and truth revelation by means of physical, psychological, and pan-dimensional persuasion. I have been privy to the most delicate and informative teachings available on the subject and have learned, improved upon, and practiced my craft from and within the presence of athourities of such interactive inductions and applications.

If you find that my services would be useful and welcome within the walls of your institution, please feel free to contact me at your leisure or need to discuss business arrangements or necessity fulfillments. I am sure you are more than capable of finding me and thereby delivering further inquiry. I do pray that the powers that be watchs over your endeavors and bless your activities.

    Available for your service,
    Maleficus Carnificis

"Dreams... such fertile ground for the seeds of torment. I can sense your ripeness and, oddly enough, it is time for the harvest. Please, save your tears... I intend to reap your sorrow slowly and have ages to discover the things that make you suffer... I am eager to revel in the sweet melody of your screams and the melancholy of your despair..."

A jail warden finally gets around to reading the letter, and, frowning profusely at the language used and the unmistakable hint at darker pursuits, stashes the parchment away after several failed attempts at fully reading it.

Mumbling nervously about degenerate lunatics, the jail warden fumbles about with the note and slams the parchment into a drawer in the table.

        No reply is ever given.
