Capitaine Eddy, Corpsmen of Sestra, et al.,
It is with great reluctance that I leave your ranks, but certain choices and actions, willful, deliberate, and with full knowledge of the consequences of such choices, cannot be ignored or abided.
If Sestra had been at war with the drow, you would not skin the drow and wear them as cloaks.
If Sestra had been at war with a clan of evil dwarves, you would not hollow their skulls into helms.
If Sestra had been at war with another city of man, you certainly would not break the bones of the fallen into clubs and barbarically wield them as savage, brute weapons.
And yet, your hostilities with the lizardmen has blinded you, warped you to perform an act inherently as heinous as any of these. To routinely use the flesh and bone of sentient beings as your own kit is deplorable to the extreme; immoral in its very nature. Despite my repeated pleas that these actions be barred, it is official Corps policy that all Corpsmen be allowed to debase the organization by wielding such weapons and gear. Of this, I can have no part.
It was my sincerest hope to dedicate the remainder of my days to this organization, and this town. But some acts cannot be accepted. Consider long the action that drives a paladin from your ranks, for all will be answered for in the hereafter.
I do not, however, give up hope. Lathander teaches that there is always a new dawn, and so, too, you may cast aside such poor practices, and avow yourselves to a higher morality. I can only hope, and pray, and hold myself to those values I would espouse.
Dawn Enlighten you all and Sestra,
Angelise Bryont, Radiant of Lathander, Sentinelle no more.
