  • To the Exarch of Sestra

To the Exarch of Sestra and to Whom it may also concern,

I am a new arrival to these lands of Sundren, but have quickly come to learn of the wonderful qualities of this warm and tight knit community of Sestra. Many lovely qualities of such quickly make it understandable why there are many who are rapid to volunteer for the Corps de Grace, to protect the stability and further florishing of this town.

It has recently come to my attention the matters concerning the Lizardkin that dwell in the caves past the mines, at through some caverns connected to the city. After speaking to Captain Reliun of the Corps de Grace, it was illuminated to me that there has been a tried tenuous peace between the people of the city and the Lizardkin.

Unfortunately, Captain Reliun informed me that many erstwhile adventures have tread across the line, and disrupted this fragile treaty. I am sure this is often inadvertant, as many adventurers are eager to help in many cases. I can say from first hand experience, it was not readily evidant that there was a treaty between the people and the Lizardkin, until it was specifically brought to my attention through fortunate events.

If I might humbly suggest, perhaps there could be the placement of signs and warnings, that would inform would-be adventurers of the situation, such as the treaty and the hoped for peace. Hopefully this could help circumvent some possible future problems that might result into more aggressive and hostile actions from the Lizardkin in retalition for what they would naturally believe is encroachment upon their homes and undue slaughter.

I appreciate the time you have taken to read this, and wish the blessings of Ilmater upon the community you're leading.

    Regards,

    Dear Amiolasi,

Rest assured that your concerns have been heard. Indeed the peace we share now with the lizards of our mines is a fragile one which was not exactly aided further by the incident that transpired with the battle against those that used them like sheep. We have spoken to the Thayans stationed at the mines and while there is indeed a lack of warnings regarding the dangers of stepping into the lizardmen's territory, they have done a remarkable job in preventing the lizards from doing anything outside of their own home save the occasional destruction of their equipment. However, given that the mines have been officially purchased by them, there is a certain degree of liberties that they are allowed and much that comes down to their final descisions.

We have always relied upon word of mouth being our most useful tool in keeping the fragile peace we share intact. Even the children of our town are taught not to wander into the mines. We are actually quite glad to see newcomers take an interest in our community and given your experience, it may be necessary to take further precautions to maintain what little sense of peace we have. We shall discuss these matters with the Thayans or perhaps resort to other methods to help ensure there are no longer any misunderstandings or accidents.

    Our thanks for your concerns,
