An important letter requiring higher-quality vellum opposed to the rougher standard parchment; black ink used in fine but clear and easy to read handwriting. This is the final letter to express his sorrow for a life lost in the defense of Sestra. He had already written condolences for the families of the Legionnaires that died in Sestra, this was for one of the CdG's own people.
Dear Linda,
It is with great regret to inform you that your husband, Edmond Miller, has died while fighting to defend Sestra. He was a good man and the Corps de Grace will miss him dearly.
The time I've spent working in the Corps de Grace, I've come to know Edmond and valued his dedication to the protection of our fair town. He selflessly devoted his time to keeping homes safe; he loved this town and the people, few could match his noble actions. He fought with bravery and honor; he took up a major role in keeping our town safe from the undead abominations that plague all of Sundren. Because of him, he has kept people safe; because of him, I'm alive and recovering; and it was because of his sacrifices, others may live on.
I can only imagine how much you will miss Edmond. Nothing I may say will ever bring him back, but neither would dwelling on his death. Instead I encourage you to remember all the pleasant memories you have shared with him, and honor his memory and sacrifice by continuing to lead your life to its fullest. Know that if any moment you feel the pain and suffering is too much to bear, the Corp de Grace would be willing to listen and provide the help you need.
May Sune watch over and bless your heart and mind,
Cirion Reliun
The vellum letter is neatly packed into an envelope, sealed, and given to one of the more diplomatic Corps de Grace men to carry to the widow's home. Along with the man, Cirion also asks one of the Ilmatari clergy women to go with him, to help bring comfort to the widow when she is brought the news.
