  • Banites in the farmlands

Two messages are sent to both Balthazar of the Triumvirate and Peridan Twilight of the legion. The appropriate date is marked on both.

"Today I, Rodderick Hughes, paladin of Tyr was informed by one of the customers of Exigo that there had been undead sightings in the farmlands of Sundren. Upon following her lead these claims were proven true. A Banite and his undead ally who called him self Lestat were standing off with a brother in faith - Baragorn.

After several warnings given to the Banites to desist their actions and leave, they failed to comply. It was then the undead abomination attempted to seize the woman that had lead me there. Baragorn and I had no choice but to act. We managed to slay the creature, though the priest had gotten away.

We could not discern the mans' identity, though I have not had the time to properly question Baragorn as we were severely wounded from the fight.

A young beautiful woman about twenty or so years old and seemingly new to Sundren has been seen telling a terrifying tale about her adventures near the Exigo Trading Post.

"I bravely followed a spectacularly frightened hin to the farmlands surrounding the Trade Post and discovered a small army of shambling corpses and skeletons surrounding a man who was offering peace if only we would all succumb to lure of worshiping Bane! I did my best to try to diffuse the situation but neither side would listen to me. I think one of the men arguing with the Banite was a member of the Triumverate. Suddenly, the entire horde of monsters lurched towards the good man and away from the Banite. The hin, Violet I think her name was, unleashed a barage of holy magic that I've never seen and one that would most certainly give the wizards of Waterdeep pause. She felled the foul Banite most furiousishly.

"You'd think that would be the end but it wasn't! The evil man's body could been seen shifting and rising so I ran all the way back to the Trading Post and the safety of Exigo's guards. Luckily I ran into another member of the Triumverate and we rushed to the scene.

"It was as I'd feared! The man had risen from what must have been mortal wounds and had summoned both a winged demon from the Abyss and some sort of powerful nearly undead guardian that knocked both me and my silk dress from Waterdeep's finest shops into what had to be nearly neck deep mud. It picked me up and then threw me into a wholly different pile of mud! I was so mad that it had ruined my dress that I started crying.

"I sobbed and sobbed for a great long while and discovered that I'd somehow gotten dragged all the way back to the Trading Post yet again. This time I was with the hin, Violet. We dried out the best that we could and somehow got our heads about us again. Then I remembered that I had placed fifth in our class archer competition with my crossbow. I steadfastly put it all back together and locked a bolt into place then went back to the place where the battle was taking place in order to demand compensation for the cleaning bill that will surely run into the tens if not into the hundreds of stags. It is silk after all.

"I didn't come across anything but the signs of battle and a deserted battlefield. So I trudged back across muddy roads to the Trading Post yet again. I'll most certainly hire a carriage should I make that trek once more. After making it known that my dress was nearly ruined and almost beyond salvage one of the men handed me a bag of coins for my trouble. I think that maybe the Triumverate is doing some good around her after all."
