  • A note for the Genasi

    Not far into the surroundings of the desecrated temple of Kelemvor, the nefarious site referred to as the Necropolis;
half-stands a single defeated corpse, formerly animated by darker magics.
It's body is propped up in awkward fashion against a single darkened tree, a not overly peculiar site.
But it remains eye catching all the same, should someone be in search of oddities.

Closer inspection would yield proof of a small ranged blessing, designed to protect it's recipient from malevolent forces,
focused on the mutilated, now laid to rest corpse. Beside it stands evidence of a half-finished grave,
though it is apparent from even the most brief of inspections that whoever was seeing to it, left in a great hurry.
A shovel stands beside both sights, the token of unfinished business.
Loosely grasped in the bodies' left hand stands an unsealed letter.

"This letter is written by intent of reaching a man I have sworn not to speak the name of, nor of his person at all.
Without other means of communication than this somewhat desperate attempt,
I find myself estranged in the writing of this, as I must show both my sincerity for the subject and honor in keeping my vow.

Should you be the persons I am in search of, I can assume you know by suggestion of our previous encounter who I am.
While I would like to apologize for attempting a second communication at all, please understand that I believe the need to be truly great. I will speak more clearly now of the subject, though I worry others finding this note in place of it's intended recipient will only be drawn into the misfortunes of my wanderings.

I have, by the most incredulous chance of fate, stumbled upon further misdeeds and potentially incriminating evidence of the Thayan Enclave, in reference to both the escaped experiment and more.
While I fervently wish I had not been the one to make these findings, now that I have,
I understand the responsibility of law and seeing to the authenticity and publication of my knowledge.
As such, I implore you in good faith from your previous discourse on the subject, to help me,
how I cannot place immediate detailing of in this letter.
Should you find this, please, wait for me. I will return as often as I am able to the site, so as to seek out both you and your reply.

P.S. Should you be willing and able, the unfortunate and unwilling carrier of this letter should have the
grave I was not capable of finishing for him.
He deserves at least that much."

Lost carelessly, or perhaps not so carelessly in a conveniently situated bush beside the site, sits a somewhat shiny holy symbol of Kelemvor, it's un-smudged state reference to it being a newly misplaced item.
"Sir, we're surrounded!" "Excellent! Now we can attack in any direction."

The letter and the symbol disappear from the site.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
