For the last few weeks, Annie has been fretting like a hen with a new egg, fussing over her badger friend with single-minded abandon. Osclow the bard has been little better, by all accounts.
Mathilda, meanwhile, has simply been growing fatter and more irritable by the day.
Now, of course, the reason has become obvious, for it appears the rotund badger maid has given birth to two strapping baby badger boys.
Who the father is is open for speculation, but some say Annie actually crawled into the burrow to help with the birthing - others say a bottle with something was involved, still others that she fed them spirits when they drew their first breath, though rumors are varied and confused.
Names have not been decided on, and a certain bard's suggestion of calling them both "Osclow" was dismissed out of hand for being highly impractical.
