A few miles south of Sundren city, in the distant farmland that covers the vast fields, a woman clad in dark armor stands in front of a tall oak tree. It's branches and limbs covered in healthy green leaves, able to shade any from todays hot sun. The air is muggy and warm as the night begins to meld with the day.
The tall, dark woman leaned back onto the tall oak trees bark covered body, her eyes flicking in between the butterfly's which danced in the heat. She had been wracking her mind for several hours on a conversation to be had with the white clad woman, Mithrilia.
Seeing her thoughts easily slip away from the confines of her direct thought, Lauan begins speaking aloud to herself, though, quietly.
"...believed in me?" She scratches at the back of her neck, then chuckles sardonically. "The woman is as bad as the rest of them. I don't need the benefit of the doubt." She sinks down the tree, sitting in the soft grass.
"She had heard a skewed version of me from that paladin, bless his soul. He's the one who filled her head full of these assumptions." Her hands behind her head, she watched as two butterfly's circled each other.
"Alone?... Hardly. I have an enclave full of knights at my command. Replaceable?... Never. I am an asset to my masters. Mithrilia hasn't a clue." She adds at the end, seeming quite sure of herself. She sighs, as if she knows she is stretching the truth.
"Mithrilia... what has that paladin told you? A disappointment to the world I may have been, but I arose from that disappointment to something greater." With that, the stillness is broken as the heat reaches its peak, and the downpour of rain begins.
"I only have to deal with this woman for a brief period of time, let me hope I do not wind up killing her." Scoffs as she gathers up her belongings. The butterfly's flee to the safety of the green branches as the knight pulls down her hood and walks back towards Civilization.
