Taron Trekko was a bartender in one Amn's many taverns. He lived his life lacking specific dreams or aspirations. Neither extremly happy or sad he led a live many others would envy him for. And so his days went on, time passed, without much actually happening. Until the day he met the gnome. No,to be correct, the day he came in contact with the gnome's work.
It was rather early in the evening when the gnome entered the establishment. He ordered some honeybrew, settled himself in the farest corner, took out a writing kit, some parchments and started writing. The evning went and the gnome kept writing, ocassionally ordering another pint of honeybrew. Aside from the gnome a couple cliënts passed that evening but all in all it was a quiet night. The gnome left somewhat near the end of the night with Taron not paying much attention to him.
But when he started cleaning up the tables he noticed a small bag with parchments laying where the gnome sat before. He looked around, and curious about it's contents he started to read what the gnome had written ....
It is said that some saw Taron leaving the tavern early in the morning, and that he dwelt the streets of Amn for 2 straight days asking around for a certain gnome. Some swear he had the look of a fanatic, frantically in speech and behavior. But what they actually witnissed was Deneir's flame igniting within Taron. The power of the written word had touched his very heart and soul, and he instantly knew he would spend his life in service of it. he never saw the gnome that had inspired him that day again.
The steps he took next was to leave his past behind, he was a changed man after all, giving up his name and job and taking the first boat that passed by the Harbor. The boat made way towards Waterdeep first, which the former Bartender took as a sign. He went to Deneir's temple while the boat was resupplying, where he gave the parchments to the priests so that it's content could be shared with others. After he gotten back on the boat it set sail towards the next, and his final, destination namely the lands of Sundren.
"Name ... ?" asked the officer standing at the docks. "Colophonius Rainshine !" The man answered proudly. The name the bartender had taken upon him was not just a random name. No, it actually was the main character of the short story that inspired him to take this leap of faith. From here upon he would seek out, hunt down even, the many written treasures located within this world.
