  • A Priestess with a Purpose (Cybil Gelley's new Diary)

Walking up in the Triumvirate Cybil smiles faintly and gives a big sigh. She doesn't move just yet but remembers her ceremony as she continues to wake up. Elijah, Julia, Algernon, Cirion and Yashia were all there. Elijah, Julia, Yashia and Algernon all gave witness and testimony. She thought it was all a bit much, she just considered herself as helping friends and people she cared about.

She took the wine after, she didn't remember anything after drinking it and lying on the rug, but she was famished when it was over. So she and her friends, along with Foxfur, whom they picked up along the way, went to a feast in the crossroads. There her favourite dish, Pickled pigs feet, was served. She'd forgotten how much she loved them, since she hadn't had them in such a long time.

... Everything went well, and everyone had fun...

Cybil shifted slightly and with the pain, the other memories came flooding back...

    Dark Feast

(( The following may contain graphic scenes of violence, Reader discretion is advised ))

Written in the city gardens while sitting on a bench.

They kicked me out of the Temple! All I was trying to do was help. No, they were right, I should have been resting. We're our own worse patients...

A sudden sharp pain in the back... pain that brought back the memories.

People started falling sick. Cybil rushed about trying to find those that were sick, before she could help organize any relief everything went dark around her... Then she felt the pain, one swift solid blow to her torso. If she hadn't been convinced by he friends that they should wear their armour, just in case, she would be lying in pieces in the fields. Everything went dark, her vision faded as she fell into unconsciousness. When she awoke, Brother Melchior was rushing about, tending to the wounded, but weeping over those that were beyond saving... Julia was gone. But a Banite was found. Clive... CLIVE?? Someone whom they had trusted, a banite. Ambrose interogated him with Melchior's reluctance. They did get the location... Shar's abandon. Cybil was to take one person, and organize a prisoneer exchange.

On arrival, Julia was bleeding and injured. Cybil offered herself in replacement. She could not let her friend suffer any more, so she took her place. Julia would be safe.

The nether-elves took her shadow. They made her watch, as a beast, blinking in and out of reality, feasted on it. Cybil was distraught, but did not let it show. Could this death of something so innocent be for naught? It needed meaning... it must have meaning!

Cybil faced the man who led the attack. Continually taunting his belief, suffering the harsh whipping of a thick rope that burned into her flesh. They kicked her, slapped her, nearly broke her ribs, left her face bruised and scared. They 'clensed' the wounds with strong wine, mocking the liquid and wiping it off her back and tasting it. She lamented the loss of her shadow, but it gave her strength, which continued to fade. She would not let them convert her, she would not turn from Ilmater, she would not let the shadows death be for nothing. She continued to refuse, they continued to torture.

The last of the two marks he made were from his flaming sword, pushed slowing into her upper arm. She let out a scream that could have been heard from miles around. Continually sobbing, she lost all sense and started talking in a strange tongue they could not understand, and he repeated the same on the other arm. She had no breath to scream, but collapsed... feeling her end near, she heard the voice of angels... her friends had come back, with the ransom, she would be safe again, but continued to lament the loss of her shadow, befuddling her friends, until they realized what had happened.... she had no shadow, but it had not died in vain, it's death, it's sacrifice to her, was noble in the end.

      Failed research, first kiss

My research at the library has been fruitless. That being said, I think that Nocte and Zack have found a book that may be useful in at least doing something beneficial with the portals around Exigo. Nocte probably wouldn't agree, since a Celestial Warrior came after him through one. It does beg some questions. Could the rift between planes be so weak there now that it is capable of summoning beings of good, and if so, if we ask for help during the times when the demons pour through, could we get a 'divine champion'? Yashia and I were both wondering similar things when we confronted Nocte about the incident.

Ealier, there was an incedent involving Cazen rushing at Yashia, persumably for fun, and she hit her head. In my rush to get her inside, I was rather snarfy with him, and he did not take it well. I think the mental effects of my stay with the Banites in the Abandon may be with me for a while. After the talk with Nocte, I returned to Exigo, and saw Cazen again. I rushed over, gave him a hug, and, in lieu of the punch in the mouth he had offered up for his side of the argument as reconciliation, I gave him a small kiss.... What he returned was, well, my very first kiss.

        Boat loads of Crap!

The beginning of my day started out at the university. A young man doing his research in the Shadow Weave and the Shadow After some confusing information about the weave itself he said that there is a possibility that the shadow is not technically dead, and it possibly could be reattached. His supposition is that it may actually have fled to the shadow plane, after being devoured. The problem with reattaching though is that I would probably need to track down the beast that devoured it, or the shadow elf that performed the ritual. Either prospect does not fill me with a lot of hope at the moment.

Cirion continues to try to talk to me about something. I know it's important, because he's struggling with it. The problem is that each time he starts to talk about it, no matter where we are, we seem to be interrupted. We were in the Triumvirate talking and everyone and their familiar seemed to walk in at one point or another. After some time, and having come into the room once before, Elijah interupted, seeing Cirion kneeling in front of me with my hands holding his, asked Cirion if he could have a talk. I heard a little of their conversation through the door, but couldn't make anything out except when Elijah raised his voice. I was extremely irratated!

During their tete-a-tete Nocte and Lauan came in, with Nocte spewing off something about demons in the crossroad. What on earth possessed him to enter a Temple is beyond me - he could have killed himself! At any rate, what was happening at the crossroads was very odd. A strange little Pixie had been summoning demons, to fertilize! the wheat field!! It crafted a huge... poo golem that attacked us (I won't mention the condition we found Zack in just before it appeared). Then the pixie started summoning fertilizer factories - those being Demons and Devils!! All in all, the stains and smells on my armour summed up my feelings for the day.

          Thayan companion

          * written in her journal, much more harried and scattered than her normal fluid script *

I don't know what to do. I met her at the camp, she was just standing there, looking around, rather worried and looking very much alone. She didn't say anything as she approached, but just stood. I asked her what her name was, and she replied Nerana. She said she was lost when I asked her what was wrong. I eventually got out of her that she was a slave to a wizard, a Thayan wizard. He had been attacked on their way here, and she had been left, unconscious, and, alone. She made her way to the valley and had been surviving, barely, on what small jobs she could find. Hunting goblins and the like in the hills. She was malnourished, so I offered to take her to the Temple to get some food, and so she followed.

          * she gets more panicked in her script as she goes along *

As we ate I noticed that I had to, ever so subtely, tell her to do things. She ate, we talked, and then I put her to bed so she could sleep. When she woke up the next day, I took her again to the kitchen. As I made some omlette and bacon, and warmed some bread, I asked her to get some juice for us. After finishing the cooking, I took the food to the table, and I aked her if she would like to sit down. I nearly dropped the plate on the ground at what she said in reply. "Yes master". I panicked, I nearly had a conniption right there! Master? I didn't understand. I told her to call me Cybil, she did, and kept doing it, but she ended each sentence with my name. I could tell that she was replacing it with Master, and each time my heart sank a little more. She said that she was fated to be a slave, and that she was now bound to me - she believes in Savras, the diety of Fate, she is unshakable as of yet, she believes in her fate.

I had to get this girl some proper armour. She is an able fighter, as we marched into the Banite crypt and settled matters there. She kept at it though, still ending her sentences with my name. When we met Annie, I panicked, what if she found out, the reputation of the Temple would be torn apart. I had to keep it quiet, and I was glad when a young Tyrran cleric came into the Triumvirate and I was able to get him talking. Annie eventually left, and he did to. We went to bed, I reminded her that she could go explore if she wanted. I went to bed, and my rest was fitful.

          * nearly illegible at this point *

I have not forced her or commanded her; I merely prodded her to eat and sleep. She wouldn't have otherwise, I had asked her, and she didn't. I'm a terrible person! Brother Melchior is going to be livid! How can an Ilmatari priestess have a slave! I need to talk to him as soon as possible.

            not so religious passion

            (( reader discretion is advised))

She promised not to speak it to another, or write it down, and so she would. She would keep this memory in her mind, happy and sad at the same time, she drifted off to sleep with him kneeling beside her, she uttered only two words, "
Sz Acweth" before falling to sleep.

Earlier that night they had met in the Military Ward. She still needed to talk with him, and he offered to take her to the Bathhouse. She accepted, and went to purchase something more bath like, she found it at the Trade Post.

He was hesitant at first to express himself when she asked, but she persisted, and told him to tell her. He declared himslef to her, telling her that he loved her more than he should. He kissed her, slowly, passionately, to show his own feelings. This was not the first kiss she'd had, but it was, of the two, definitely the one with the most passion and real feeling.

She told him that she loved him as well. She knew there was someone else in his life, and she accepted that. She knew that she could not, and should not come between he and his other lover. She told him that she would be patient, endure the suffering of being apart, if she could never be with him, that was something she was willing to accept. He seemed relieved that he had not caused her harm, and she assured him that she would not suffer in any bad way because of this, and she did not lie.

She asked him for one last thing before they would part. She did not speak her request, merely waited, the wrapped her hands around the back of his neck and pulled him to her, kissing him, tentatively and passionately. They melted together, eventually she had her head on step, he beside her, continuing to kiss her, tracing his tongue around her lips and she opened them trying to trace her own circles on his lips. He slowly moved to hover over her, bracing himself with his elbow, continuing to kiss her, tracing his hands, she would never forget the feeling of his hands, tracing their way along her flesh, moving in ways that kept making her whimper and involuntarily move her hands along his back, encouraging. He continued, kissing, touching, making her breath speed up and heart beat faster. He was slow, persistent, massaging her thighs, moving his hands. She plotted and moved her hands to knock his elbow so she could feel his weight press against her. She had never done anything like this before, perhaps she never would again, but she was lost, his hands moved, her legs were wrapped around him, as her arms were, pressing him against her, but his hands kept moving, her pulse kept going, he moved to her neck, then looked at her, and kissed her again. She could not contain herself, he never touched anything other than the flesh of her inner thigh, but waves overcame her. If her mouth hadn't been covered, the attendant would have wondered what he had done to her, perhaps not. At any rate, his hands slowed, as her passion subsided.

He slowly moved to her side, they talked again. She knew that they might never be together like this again, but she was content. She smiled and assured him that she would be fine, that what he had given her, would sustain her. He would always be her friend, and she would always be there when he needed her, and he reciprocated.

As she fell asleep, she sighed, in her head, she said, as she had said to him before in the Bathhouse, "Cirion, I love you, my angel". All he heard was the celestial words "Sz Acweth".

During a trip to the Virdale, I discovered two things. Kerrigan has managed to modify Consumption somehow to make it more virulent, and give it the ability to travel from blood, through skin. I have become infected, and I am suffering from an extremely accelerated version. What would have taken years, has taken less than a week. Ambrose is looking for the cure, and the reagants, and of course, they won't let me help.

Another, perhaps more disturbing event, I have found one of those that Tortured me. The one that was irate with Nerandal, whom this man claimed had hired him, at the idea of bringing the family to the abandon to slaughter. His voice is something I couldn't forget; I heard it again when he was talking about Kerrigan. I had had a strange feeling before, when he looked apologetic when I took him to the temple after a failed mission a few weeks ago. As it was. He confessed to me after I had discovered his identity, whoever, it was he that came to me. He then went to Virdale again with Ambrose to help find the reagents for the cure. He offered his life to me, if a cure cannot be found - he would only accept me as his execuctioner.

not so religious passion, pt II

They walked into the woods, far away from anything else. He wanted to talk, to see if there was anything that she needed, or wanted, that he could give her.

"I want something from you, something to hold, something to cherish, someone". She looked at the ground, knowing very well that she was asking for more than she could ever have, more than she could ever hope for, and more than she knew she should ask for.

"You want a child, our child?" He replied, and she nodded, still embarrassed, still nervous, hoping beyond hope, expecting nothing. It was something she knew might hurt someone she cared about if it was found out. She knew it wasn't possible. "No one can know. I will help you raise the child when I can. I will support you as much as I can." She knew that none could ever know. She knew that he could not offer the support that he had the right to if he could have it. She told him that she was asking to much, she hung her head. He responded in motion; he came over to her, held her, leaned in. She threw her arms around his neck, and drew him in,kissing him with a urgency she didn't completely understand at first. They continued, and they moved to the tent at his urging; clumsily locked together, mostly at her urging.

                He slowly undressed her, [Censored]

                (( keep it PG:13 please - Uri ))

(( warning : don't use your imagination here -- nothing happened... move along... shoo!-- These aren't the droids your looking for ))

She had never felt anything like it before. They lay together, she thanked him, both of them out of breath. Her body was still feeling the passion, dieing down slowly. She had felt waves moving over her. He had made sure that she felt pleasure, and she had. She told him if nothing could ever come of this, she would be content. She would live with the memory alone if need be, never expecting anything like this from him again, but hoping beyond hope she could. "Thank you, my love, Sz Acweth".

They lay together, huddled together for warmth in the tent, deep in the forest, falling to sleep. In the morning, she woke him up, slowly, with tender kisses along his skin lighting her own fire to keep warm...

                  Cornering the banite

I saw Clive today, he was leading a young elven women around, helping her find the Militia Barracks. I followed, and cornered him around the corner. As I called the guards he pulled out a small medallion, mumbled a few words, and then... disappeared.

A few days later, I saw him in Virdale border. I chased after him into the hills and forest. He went over a rise, and by the time I got to the top, he was gone.

                    A new home

I have talked to Brother Melchior, to fully understand what he meant. I understand that it is in the interest of propriety that he did it. I will miss teaching and participating in the activities of the Temple. I see no chance that the stipulations will be met. I will not force what I know will cause pain to someone that I care about. I will remain unwed, at least to the one that they expect me to be wed to. I have the resources of my friends, that will suffice. They will be cared for and loved, that is all that matters.

I have taken residence in the Four Lanterns.

                      The Fallen Woman

Life will be hard. Many have ostracized me already. I am seen as nothing more than a whore, an adulteress. The choice I made has helped bring about suffering in not only those that died, but everyone around them now. I will not wallow in self pity. I will grieve, but I must go on.

The future of my children are what matter now. They will have a home, love, and a future. My first thoughts will be for them. My last thoughts will be for those that suffer, for whatever reason. I will not hold self pity in my heart, nor self loathing, these will do me no good. The hateful words of others I will not heed.

Two people I cared deeply about are gone. Cirion, the father of my child, and Yashia, the woman whose heart and soul I tried to help mend, and whose heart I helped break.

                        Phenoix risen

They are alive, and recovering. I haven't seen them since they came back. I cannot face them yet, until I know for sure that they know each other for themselves, and understand their love, their life, together.

Ru'umel has been a great help to me, emotionally and mentally during this ordeal. He is very dear to me. I have, perhaps foolishly and quickly before he was ready for the question, asked him if he would be willing to let me be his wife. I have not proposed directly, but he understands my feelings, the meaning he has in my life now. He also understands that I will not, cannot, pursue or allow myself to be persued. Cirion is the father of my children, but I cannot allow him to be more than that to me, as much as that will be painful, and hard, it must be done. The future of the children are what matters.
