  • The making of a partner

Noticing the slowly dwindling ranks of the Legion, Elijah began to actively recruit amongst Sundren's populace. He was picky though and only invited those truly willing to serve Sundren's people. The pay is low and the danger high. He did not wish to serve alongside someone easily swayed by money or power. Claudius Moern was Elijah's newest inductee. He seemed honorable enough and was one seeking direction. He will prove to be a good Legionnaire, he thinks.

Still, the Legion ranks are too thin. Elijah finds himself patrolling the dangerous lands by himself. He is quite capable in his duties, but he knows enough that a lone patrol is easily overtaken. He turns to the book he recently found on golems. The concepts aren't too difficult to grasp given his ability to learn but the skill required is high and the process long. Always being efficient, he quickly scans the pages for the ingredients required. He lists them in his leather bound journal. Should he come across any in his travels, he needs to know enough to keep them. With his list compiled, Elijah heads off to sleep. His next patrol is early in the morning. He makes it a point never to be late.

((DM's. Is it possible to be PM'ed with the "grocery list" involved? I have access to the required book.))

(( I was trying to steer you away from this in-game. I don't think we have the resources right now to support you creating a golem, unless you're talking about a golem familiar. ))

((PL, I understand. If you just give me what you can and then I'll RP that it will take a really long time. I'll wait and hopefully, we'll get more DM's or whatever resources we'll need and I'll potentially revisit?))

(( This kind of thing may require scripting. As such it may never be persued. Let's talk in-game about options. ))

(( Also I contest the fact that 1) you say it's a simple process building a golem: very much the opposite. My 20 int character spent months researching the process. 2) You would most certainly need a mage to complete the process of reasonable level, it is an entirely magical process. Also the "pet" golems have been removed from the game due to the constant stomping noise. The resulting golem would have to be the Imaskari golem familiar from MotB which is a highly powerful character and would indeed require a 2da edit on your character, which I doubt Saulus would agree to ))

            ((
            Uri,
Elijah has a 21 INT, an able learner, and a mage that can cast lvl 6 spells (I was told I needed lvl 7spells). I didn't mean to imply that it was cake to make it, but I was RPing his ability to learn quickly (but sure, it can still be debated) I was under the impression that golem-making was an established path since I knew of a couple PC's actively trying to make one/gathering materials. Anyway, I wasn't expecting it to happen overnight or even a few weeks but we've got to start sometime, right?

Irrespective, I've been talking to PL offline on the subject. Given the staff resources, I'm not expecting any special favors. Like I said, I figured it was an established path. I'll just follow suit if golem-making is ever approved or deemed feasible. 'Til then, Elijah will just study it in the background to continue his RP on the subject. If it never happens, it's okay.

            Thanks for the input!
