  • The Vellik Act

*posters are plastered on commonly-used meeting areas, in and out of the city*

    The Vellik Act
In rememberance of the heroic Vellik family, slain by Banite zealots and madmen, Article 567, also known as the Vellik Act, has been passed.

All followers of the following gods must register with the city of Sundren:
    --Bane
    --Shar

It is not illegal to worship these gods. However, too many of their followers have shown themselves not to be fearful of the gods, but madmen who would cause tremendous harm to the citizens of our land. The Black Hand, Moth Oira, and the Talonites are all enemies of the state, and by extension, all followers of gods related to these sects must give their names over to the government proper.

A reward of five hundred gold will be given for truthful information and names regarding unregistered worshipers. Those who submit false names or information will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Late at night, making sure no one is visible nearby, and under the cover of darkness, dressed in all black head to foot, Zek'Attar adds this to a poster:

"The following people have revealed themselves as followers of Shar, and its rumored they even tried to rescue their goddess's avatar from the followers of Talona.

    Alyrian
    Osclow
    Kathryn
    Lauan

They went so far as to trick a honorable Paladin of Torm, Hano, into helping them, and according to the tales, struck him down after Xithis fell.

We should all be greatful that other Gods were watching and interferred with both theirs and Xithis's plans, else we would all have fallen under the shadow of Shar.

Look to them if your looking for Sharrites. And thank the gods they did not succeed. "

Serena walks by a poster, reading it quickly and stops, dumbfounded.

She thinks to herself, "I really thought they couldn't go any lower than the Anderson Act. I was obviously wrong. Absurd! Now they even try to legislate religon. I certainly won't be registering for this stupid act either. My prayers to the gods are none of their business. I'm sure the thousands of other people here who pray to those gods are never going to register either. Its certainly not Sundren's business who anyone worships."

"Silvanus give me patience!" the tiefling blurts out as she leaves the poster behind.
