Those who know the forest girl Shia also know she is a woman of little expression. Shia has yet to smile, laugh, even scowl. The most expressive thing they have seen is a quirk of an eyebrow or a head tilt, much like an animal her face shows little of her emotions.
This very character trait made it hard for anyone to notice when Shia began to feel ill. Shia kept her illness to herself and felt no need to disturb others with her problems. The first person she spoke to was her "mate" Mirumoto with whom she shares a bond beyond friendship. Shia spoke to him about her inability to sleep more than a few hours a night.
Days later the illness appeared to be getting worse Shia had been getting less and less sleep each day and now she seem to develop nausea and a fever. Her friends assured her she needs to get some rest and she will feel better so Shia darted off to attempt to sleep once more.
Shia lies awake in her bed thinking over the events of the past week trying to determine what the reason could be that she cannot sleep. Perhaps this exact situation is only causing her to sleep less with the illness so evident on her mind. Regardless of the reason Shia lies awake, thinking and not sleeping, which one can assume will not do her any good.
