The night sky was an unusual shade of black. A mist seemed to cover certain areas of land, the cattle in the fields were restless. People were on edge. There was definately something amiss this night. The air whipped around Balthasars face as he turned to beckon Caspar. The Viridale was even colder then the other parts of Sundren. This is were the source was, it must of been. They moved up the hill, heading towards the Untrodden grounds.
Caspar called out as they waded through the mist, "We should fall back, get others, we both know exactly were this is leading us.."
Balthasar moved back, grabbing hold of Caspar's arm. He led him out of the missed as they fell back to get reinforcements.
"A party of maybe ten, or even more adventurers just passed, not but an hour ago. Heading to Viridale." The woodland ranger frowned at Caspar and Balthasar and the array of Paladins with them. "Said somethin' bout' the Untrodded grounds."
Both Caspar and Balthasar shared the same fearful gaze with each other. Balthasar took haste and ran, while Caspar began ordering the other paladins to stay put at the Viridale fort. He then followed Balthasar, back into the mist at Viridale...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Balthasar's body was lumbered into the the tent area of the fort, by an also heavily injured Caspar. The adventurers watched on as they were dragged to the side and treated to. Both looked plae, ill, possibly on the verge of death itself.
Another Paladin stood before the group of adventurers and took information from them about what had happened there. After he deemed his information worthy, he quickly escorted himself, Balthasar, Caspar and the other Paladins away from the fort.
