  • A Stunning Meteor Shower

The skies over Sundren lit up. A breathtaking meteor shower rained down upon the land. It was amazing to watch, falling stars by the hundreds. Some of the meteors even survived impact, precious rarities fallen from the heavens.

Exigo reports collecting a large meteor from the heart of Veritas lands. Local adventurers helped with the protection and extraction and were rewarded with a truly amazing blessed item--a morningstar made from a chunk of polarized silver.

The Veritas fort guards saw several adventurers return, bloodied but joyous. They chatted in passing of defeating the local tribes with trickery, posing as fire gods. They bragged about their find--gems and precious ores.

All over Sundren, smaller meteors were found, laden with precious gems and smeltable metals. Perhaps others will share their stories...

Elijah was in the Viridale alone that night, strolling under the stars. Despite the obvious danger of the area, he enjoyed the peace there. He allowed the slip of darkness to keep him from the roving Mossclaw patrols. And then it happened.

Streaking across the heavens were streams of glorious light. It was beautiful yet disconcerting. Were the starts falling from their heavenly seats?

Then with a loud roar, a blinding light, and deafening crash, the whole of the Viridale shook. One of the stars must have fallen nearby. His curiosity piqued, he began to go towards where he last saw the streaking light. As he followed it up the hill, he stopped in his tracks.

Oh no. It landed in the middle of Grimaxe Hold.

Drinking a potion that turned him invisible, he went in to investigate further. Hoping that the fallen star destroyed the fort, his opposite fear came to fruition. Though orc bodies were strewn about, the fort was largely undamaged. Elijah couldn't get close enough for the meteor's glowing ashes made his figure take shape.

And then the different Mossclaw Alliance chieftens arrived along with their entourage. Each sensed the meteor as a source of power even if they did not fully know what it was. Arguments then ensued.

Realizing quickly that he needed others to help him and that the source of power needs to be wrested away from the Alliance, Elijah made haste. Finding many at the Ranger's Outpost Cazen, Daelus, and Nocte, Arawen, and Asriel ((sp?)) the quickly assembled party arrived at the Grimaxe gates.

Using a variety of ruses and deception, the group slowly whittled the Alliance hordes down until there was none left. It felt like hours but their patience finally paid off. The glowing meteor fragments no longer rested in Mossclaw hands.

The power of the fallen star rested in the hands of its rescuers and heroes.

      Reports begin to file in--

Many who ventured close to and were affected by the meteors that landed are showing signs of erratic behavior: creatures, people, even the land itself. Maybe there was more to that orange glow than the treasures in the rock?
