Kathryn awoke and stretched her legs, stepping out into the first lights of the sunshine. She had had to get away, take just a short time to get her head straight, to meditate, away from all those people she cared for. Now as she watched the red orb rise on this the end of her sabbatical she hoped it would be enough, that she would be able to come through the madness of her personal feelings and find some greater truth. Some way to accept the unacceptable.
She hadn't said anything to anyone before she left, the last day of her stay in the city had been a long one, Helping Yashia connect with Sehron through the magic ring, the growing of understanding between herself and Hano Fetten, the visiting of the refugees, the confirmations and talks with Osclow, the witnessing of SnowHawk's weapon of power,The Anderson Act and it's fearful repercussions, and not in the least the slow silent progression of watching Eira descend into madness.
It was Hano and Eira that had made her wish most to take this time for just herself. The former out of fear of hope, and the latter of the fear of despair. The week she had been gone had given know real answers, only more questions but she no longer felt that she didn't have the strength to face them. How things would turn out no longer worried her as much as it had, only how she lived her life mattered in the end. She would do her best, and pray to Bahamut that it was enough.
Shouldering her pack she stepped away from the silence of the small cave she had spent a week in, silently thanking SnowHawk for what little survival training she had acquired and headed back home.. to the city of Sundren.
