(( Back IC )) Leckith Oakenhair dropped to his knees, grasping his chest as if in an effort to tear out his own heart. He could not breathe, he could not see and the only sound was the thundering of blood in his ears. Images of pain, suffering, fear, anger, every negative emotion screamed through his veins. The spirits rarely saw fit to intervene in anything man-related, but he would know this sensation anywhere. "War, Leck!" Resia screamed in his mind, "The same message from every spirit in Sundren, they're terrified! It's coming, now, today, before we have time to prepare! Some speak of a cube, and the name of Shar, but all cry out in fear, war is coming!"

Minutes? Or hours? Leck knelt there on the floor, shaking, trying to regain control. "War..." He whispered, echoing the word that reverberated around his brain continuously. "We must do something... The time has finally come to pick a side, Resia, no more walking the line. The Triumvirate needs our help, our friends are in danger, and all of Sundren is at risk. We cannot allow our home to be torn apart and simply stand by and watch. We will seek out the Triumvirate and offer our services."

"I understand, Leck. And I agree. The time has come."

(( Yay for taking time off work! Leck can play war with the big people at last! ))
Lorlen Locke: "Amazing how the righteous commit acts of tyranny and terror almost as beautiful as our own under their banner of "good". We merely call a spade a spade."

"If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly."

Sain, having just finished helping to clear out the left over in the Temple of Umberlee, returns to the Triumverate to rest and speak with his companions. He instead walks into hectic preparations for this evening's battle. Seeing the home of his new found friends threatened he immediately heads for Hano, cought up in the excitement of the people around him. These people have accepted him without question. They have met his stutter with smiles and his flaky skin with a firm hand shake. Exhausted or not, he will fight against anything that threatens them. The answers that he came to Sundren for are becoming less important as these first real companions of his life show him to accept who he is without knowing all of his past. He will fight, and the grin that he wears as strides to Hano's planning room for a post in the upcoming battle is more real, more sure than any he has worn before in his life. He has found a home, and exhaustion cannot win the dual against the adrenaline of that realization.

Tarin and Arawen are chatting under a tent in Exigo Trade Post trying to stay dry at least for a few moments. A small group of adventurers wander past talking about the upcoming battle. The pair stop talking and look at each-other for a few moments. Then, without having spoken another word, they head off to the Legion Barracks in Sundren to offer their help.
The difference between a rogue and a hero often comes down to who tells the tale. – Danilo Thann describing Elaith Craulnober, in Dream Spheres

Avatar comes from a rather amusing web comic.
