Sehron stood there arguing with Nulinus, his voice becoming increasingly louder. Yashia said little, watching the elf plead with the dwarf.

"What the Hells do you mean you can't tell me!!" Sehron yelled.

Nulinus shook his head "I promised her, and I am a dwarf of my word."

Sehron sighed in defeat. Yashia began to speak up, trying to get Nulinus to understand. The elf stared to the ground, his mind working, connecting things that in his rage he had missed.

I just want to free mother, she is all I left.

She didn't say "your mother", just mother...

Rotten brothers. Don't even visit. My rotten brothers.

She was drunk. She wasn't saying brothers... Caelryth had lived in Silverymoon until a short time ago.. She was talking about me.

She just want her mother free, Sehron. She said she is all she has.

Sehron's eyes widened. "Sehron, what is it?" Yashia's voice seemed so distant.

"No." Sehron was shaking his head. "No, no, no. This isn't possible." Nulinus said nothing, just looked at him. "Sh..she...she is my sister." The dwarf still offered no reaction. "She meant me, I am her brother."

The dwarf finally spoke up "I will answer any questions I can."

"I have a question for you! Why in the Hells does my sister have horns! Why didn't you say something! She was acting like something she isn't to get my help! Gods damn it Nulinus, I could've killed her!"

Sehron dropped to the ground. He felt a comforting hand carassing his back. "It's alright, you couldn't have known. She shouldn't have tried to hide it from you, Sehron." Yashia's words gave him a bit of comfort.

"You should have told me Nulinus."

"You should have been more paitent and waited to find out more information first." The dwarf gave Sehron a stern look.

Sehron said nothing, Nulinus was right. "I won't press charges, Nulinus. I'll fix this first thing tomorrow."

The dwarf just smiled. "I have other things to tend to, friends, be safe."

      Caelryth's Reverie

Caelryth rests in his usual camp in the Viridale. Everything is secure and he is well out of sight of any wandering gnolls. He closes his eyes and slips into his Reverie.

He is a young boy again, no more than eighteen years. He looks to his side and there is his little brother, still only four. They are in their father's study. He looks down to the carvings his father etched into his flesh. He hears a sound, it Sehron. His little brother is confused and crying, tears rolling down his cheeks as his father greedily carves into his flesh.

His father begins to speak, but no words can be heard. The sounds are still present. The sobs of his little brother, the fire slowly popping, and the crackling of diabolic magicks.... that was the worst sound.

The purple mist fills the room. The look in his father's eyes was one of... expectation and success. The mist engulfs the youngest one first, lifting him into the air. The elf child is now screaming something, but still, no words. Sehron is hurled through the air with great force, the thud he makes as he hits the wall echoes through the study. The sounds of bones being broken destroy the eerie silence. Blood flows from the mouth, ears, and nose of the young elf as he slides down the wall in a lifeless pile.

The mist turns to Caelryth. It begins to slowly wrap itself around his legs and waist, creeping up to cover the rest of his body. The mist begins to pulse. Caelryth screams, but this time he hears his own voice. His life slowly being drained, Caelryth can only hope death comes soon to end the pain. The mist lifts the older brother as well, twirling the elf in mid air while it drinks. The mist releases him. His skin had the color drained from it, going from blue to brown. His hair had turned bright white. His body ached....

He was somewhere else, back in the Viridale. Back to the Now.

You remember now, the pain that was brought to you and your family. That is your enemy. I am the one that can grant you relief, I can grant you peace, I am the Beast that drives you, my name is Vengence and I hunger.

Caelryth opens his eyes. Any trace of green has left for now and only a glowing red can be seen. He hears the sound of a gnoll in the distance. He picks up his hat and puts it on. The elf smiles and spreads his fingers, flames sprouting from the tips.

      Time to feed the Beast.
