Sundren - Day 1
Headed for the city of Sundren. I have heard good things about the forests there.
Murmur and I arrived on the dock today at Port Avanthyr. Too crowded for my tastes. Not being too familiar nor too comfortable with dock towns I quickly made my way out to explore the wilds.
I found my way out into an area the locals call Sharahan Hills. From what I have gathered, goblins know as the Spittlefist tribe have located to these hills and the locals desire for the land to be purged. I have to agree. Goblins have a nasty tendency to desecrate the land. I happened upon several other adventurers that where there to help with the removal of said goblins while collecting their ears for a bounty. So far the people here seem real nice. Murmur and I found a nice spot high in the hills for some much needed rest.
Sundren - Day 2
Awoke this morning to find Murmur had already brought us back a bit of rabbit to break our fast. She is such a blessing. We left the Sharahan Hills and headed up north toward the city itself.
The city is nice. Although not fond of cities in general, the welcome I received here was very warm and pleasant indeed. Made a small trip to the city library to catch a little bit of Sundren history. Very interesting.
After that, Murmur and I headed toward the Viridale forest. The trees are beautiful. It's clear to see that Rillifane's mighty branches do indeed reach all over Faerun. Murmur and I explored around. A bit north there seems to be a band of goblins and gnolls that seem to patrol a bit of the forest. Mossclaw alliance I assume from what little bit I read on Sundren. Scouted around taking down a few patrols here and there. I know I am doing the land a great deed, but I don't feel this is the direction Rillifane has guided me. There is something more here. The trees speak of something more dire.
Sundren - Day 5
Have continued to monitor the Mossclaw patrols and explored a bit farther north without getting us into anything more dire for the last few days. Have seen several adventurers headed up north but have just watched from a distance.
Murmur and I traveled to the Exigo Trading Post to stock up and sell a few of the items I have picked up off the patrol. Once again, the people I have seemed to run into have been very cordial.
That is until later that afternoon. Murmur and I traveled a bit further to explore around in another part of the forests here. A place known as Mossdale Forest. The land is just as its name would imply, but there is a sense of hidden beauty here. Also a darkness I felt upon my soul heavily. Murmur and I traveled a bit having a look around. I heard a clanking sound and moved toward it expecting an adventurer exploring much like I was. What I found was a dark menacing man clad in dark armor. His eyes glowed a deep red from behind his helm. "Leave", was all he said. I didn't know what to make of the man trying to gage what he was for, and then he cast a darkness upon us. Murmur and I hastily moved out from the cold blackness, but the man attacked Murmur. We both escaped to the edge of the forest to where the man slowly walked and followed. The clanging rang in my ears as we left the forest.
A bit shaken but all right nonetheless. We made our way to what is known as the Druid's grove. Mighty Rillifane, one of the most beautiful groves I have ever laid eyes upon. I talked to the Keeper of the Grove and then found my way up to a Ranger's retreat. Murmur and I are grateful for the rest.
But there is a nagging in my mind. Mossdale Forest. I must know more about it. And the man who chased us away. I must seek anyone who may know more about this man and what he is doing out in the forest.
