  • Winter's embrace.

She carefully buried her belonging's deep within the ice, protecting them from harm and hiding their presense from prying eyes. Naked and exposed, she stood alone at the bottom of the great mountain looking off in the distance at the snow covered crest of the limitless expanse.
The mother had seen fit to protect her child once more, returning her spirit from the black abyss to once again walk the lands of men. She would require strength and conviction if she hoped to defeat her enemies; a deeper understanding and connection with the frostmaiden.
She set her path forward, deep within the uncharted regions of the Cold Climb, where man nor beast dared not tread. There, within the untamed fury of Auril's vengence she would find her purpose, her destiny.

The winds howled at her back, pelting her blistered skin with ice and snow. Her footsteps slowly faded, her figure soon lost within the raging storm.
Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
    Contagion to this world.

She trudged through the deepening snows, her footsteps carrying her purposely towards the mountain cliffs. The tempest of blinding winds bit deeply into her body, tearing away at her flesh and flaying her skin. Her god granted protections from such elements proving little defense against the deadly onslaught.
Her body had long ago passed the point of physical exhaustion, her magics fading as the dangerous sojourn continued. Her sight was rendered useless against the unfathomable fury of the storm, the winds obscuring her vision and pressing down upon her with their terrible weight.

Yet still, she continued, pressing forward, denying the mountains the sacrifice they so hungrily demanded. She proceeded on instinct alone, driven by an inner rage that grew in intensity as each footstep brought her closer and closer to the very heart of Auril's domain.

The pain was unbareable, the storm relentless, her hatred unimaginable.

Finally her legs would carry her no longer, her ravaged body refusing to endure any more suffering. She collapsed onto the ground, the screeching wail of the winds deafening her.

    "Your daughter has come mother."
"Long have I endured the scorn and hatred of others."
"Long have I praised your name and carried forth your wishes." she cried out into the night.

"I come before you now as I was when you first granted me your blessing's, saving me from the judgement of Tempus and his bastard tribe."

"Grant me the wisdom and strength to destroy your hated enemies....grant me the strength to unleash your eternal winter upon the lands!" she howled.
Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
    Contagion to this world.

Hano thrusts himself from his sleep in a cold sweat, slamming his head against the bunk on top of him. He falls back clutching his forehead... A few mumbles are heard from Tamryn only a few feet away from his bed.The summer night was unusually cold, sending shivers up the spines of the Paladins nestled in their beds.

"That dream again..." He thought to himself rubbing his forehead. His muscles had tensed up again, but even so he was surprised with how much sleep he was able to get that night. He thanked Tamryn silently in his head before turning back to what had woke him.

"She's alive.. I can feel it. Her anger... Her wrath. I dare not admit it to anyone, but I can feel her coming for us - All of us." He turns himself across the bed, finding his feet to the ground and and then leans into his knees. "We were fortunate the first time, but luck will only get us so far. She will learn from her mistakes, and when she does... Torm protect us all." He stays there in that position for the rest of the night pondering over the dream.
