  • Forgotten magics and lost lore.

Cadmus lays one of the many tomes at his side upon the table and breathes out a deep sigh. Over the past several weeks the Wizard has spent many of his evenings within the confines of the Sundren Archives pouring over ancient journal and ledgers.

His eyes filled with weariness he places the last of the books neatly upon the shelf and scratches its title from his list. Casting a glance around the massive library Cadmus smiles to himself.

"I may not have found what I am looking for yet, but surely hidden somewhere amongst these aged remnants a clue has yet to be discovered."

Several weeks past Cadmus had made a stand against the Red Wizards of Thay, expelling them from the newly formed Arcanus Liberus, in doing so Cadmus had destroyed his and many others relations with the Enclave, cutting off their only source of arcane knowledge and limiting their access to many magical items of power.

In the interm, Cadmus had began spending his nights in the archives in the effort to uncover some means to suplement the loss of the Thayans access. Already he had penned several letters to the upper echelon of Candlekeep requesting support, but as of yet he has heard no word back from his contacts.

Cadmus beetle familiar Skrit scurried over the table and looked up at his master. Cadmus smiled back to his small companion and rubbed the back of its shell.

"These things do take time my old friend, I have not exhausted all my resources as of yet, perhaps in time our efforts shall be rewarded."

Packing up his belongins Cadmus slides back his chair and walks slowly towards the Library door.

"Remember Skrit, although the city of Sundren itself is relatively new, the lands surrounding its borders are ancient." "Many secrets have yet to be uncovered, all one must do is simply possess the will to uncover such mysteries."
Cadmus of Helm - Priest of The Vigilant One, watcher of the coming darkness.

Z'huul locates Sir Cadmus around the fire one night and tells him "I believe that if we pool our resources, particularly in the area of spell scrolls, we can still provide that service for our members. However for tomes of Lore and pure knowledge Sundren is a poor source of arcane theory. In the long term we should try to build a organization which provides scrolls, potions, wands and more powerful items to the members of Arcanus Liberus at the cost it takes to produce them so that we may be independent. We should also try to secure sources of magical knowledge from outside Sundren and import them. We may wish to consider contacting a merchant company to obtain the items we need in far away cities and ship them back to us." Finished with his observations the grim battle mage sinks back into silence.
