A report by a woodsman given to the authorities at the Viridel Outpost...
"... and thats when I saw the three gentlemen enter the woods. One was a young man that looked as last week his mother had tucked him into bed. The other two though, they was a rough sort. All black and red armor, eye patches, and menace, was they.
They wandered off to the Untrodden Grounds. I usually don't head out that way; fearsom creatures out there. But, I followed them fellers out there. They easily slew a few of the beasts that beset upon them and continued on to the ruins. I noticed right away that some sort of alter had been set in there. Another man sat in the ruins a chanting strange words.
The sky overhead began to rumble and shake and everything grew dark as pitch. The three men entered the ruins and the man, already there, spoke a few words and the boy just stiffened up like a board. I tell ya's, I was so scare I couldn't even move. I just stared.
The men then moved the boy to the alter. They began chanting about him and waving thier spears around in the air. Flashes of lightning flew across the sky almost in tune with the chanting. This went on for near a half hour. Then they all drove thier spears into the poor lad and a giant bolt of lightning struck down into the him and out through the spears into the men. They stood there all a glow and shivering and crying, "TALOS, TALOS, TALOS." The alter blew all apart knocking the men back and to the ground.
Then it went dark. The three men picked themselves up off the ground to my amazement. They retrieved thier weapons which still, somehow, seemed to retain the power of the lightning, little bolts shooting up and down the spear shafts. They said a foul prayer and left the ruins walking so close to my hiding spot that I wet myself in fear.
I lay there frozen in fear a longtime after the men had gone. The sky cleared and a warm ray of sun hit my face. I glanced over to the boy lying broken in the ruins. Awe struck me then. Standing over the boy was a woman made of light. Her eyes bright as the sun. She knelt and placed a hand on the boy and he sat up with a start. He looked around and settled on the woman. She looked as if she said a few words to the boy and then vanished.
The boy stood and wandered uneasily out of the ruins. I stepped out of my hiding place and rushed over to him.
"Where am I?," he asked. "Just a moment ago I had gotten off the boat to Sundren and now I'm in this forest."
"Be at ease lad, yer safe now," I told him and led him back here to the Fort..."
This report was given by a woodsman, who has since disappeared. The boy, who was also questioned, left the fort and has yet to be seen in the area again.
