I just wanted to give a bit of context to Salagar (don't want to put too much because you should find this out from him).
Salagar grew up in the back streets of Waterdeep. A horrible event had taken his family and basically whole village away from him and he had escaped, only to run afoul of a hard handed human tinkerer. He escaped from the Tinkerer once they were in Waterdeep, and Salagar learned his "trade" in the back streets of Waterdeep.
Salagar was always quick, of wit and body, and learned quickly. He became a successful lockpick and window man, earning a modest living and keeping a fingers breadth from the city watch and the thieves guild. He also began to study with a fellow conspirator, who was from Neverwinter and had trained with a group of rogues who used a peculiar fighting style using daggers and speed. These were some of the best days of Salagar's life.
Soon, though, clouds rolled in and Salagar was fleeing for his life. The Shadow Thieves of Amn had begun to clear the back streets of all that did not give fealty or pay a price to operate in Waterdeep. Salagar, not liking the secretive "cult," moved on before he was found in a gutter with his throat slit.
Salagar had many encounters on his way to Sundren, a place that he hoped was devoid of Shadow Thief involvement and a likely place to make a few coins. He continued to train and study the art of knife (dagger) fighting and also fell in with a group who used mis-direction and magic to conceal themselves as well as other skills that Salagar thought would come in handy. He stayed with them a bit on their travels and learned some of their craft.
Salagar can usually be seen with V'yn, who is adept at shadows and occasionally trains/learns from him. He is also seen sometimes with Krislen Sent, who is also one of the shadow walkers.
Salagar intends to end up with:
10 Rogue
5 Invisible Blade
5 Shadow Dancer
If he achieves epic status, the rest of his levels will be rogue.
