This day has brought many interesting revelations, and one valuable lesson. I have carried on until now in the open, not attempting to hide, disguise, or secret away the study that may further all things in this world. Today, however, I was presented with a view that seems to carry much weight in this realm; the idea that the use of Death is an evil thing.
At first I thought mere ignorance was the cause of this mindset. Upon thinking, however, I was forced to view what I have seen thus far and know thus far and remove the personal connection between myself and the force I seek to master. In these realms, this force has been wielded as a blade to strike down good folk or to invoke terror in the hearts of those who find themselves isolated so far from the rest of the world. I can think of nothing nor any time that this force has been used or presented as an aid, save my own work here and there. I write now to remind myself of the importance of what I do and how it could alter how many view this force...this tool. I must redouble my efforts to master this force so I may reveal its true nature to those who may dwell here. I must show them that it is like a blade; a mere tool whose purpose is not predetermined by what it is, but by the intentions, desires, and Will of the one who wields it.
I cannot, however, allow myself to be idealistic. If the predisposition of those here is one of hatred toward a percieved evil, then I must be wary in my studies, even as I focus ever more upon them. To frighten those I wish to enlighten before they have been gently urged to open their minds to more than one possibility could prove fatal, and many a teacher has found an early grave when their lesson presented itself before the pupil was fully ready to accept that which was being taught. Nay, I cannot allow myself the luxury of a lax tounge or actions, and I must be more careful in both my methods and locations of study. I have been presented an opprotunity, I would be foolish to waste it.
Perhaps if a response from the Temples was forthcoming, I could find allies there. I shall go now to the inn and see if any news awaits me...
