Essiria Echo-Ear is not a typical bard or a dwarf either for that matter. She was born in the family of Glauros Echo-Ear, although it was rumoured that when she was conceived and born her father had been away for several years. It was said that a known halfling bard had paid a visit to the house of Echo-Ear and consoled the poor wife. After several months people noticed the wife?s rounding belly. Arua Echo-Ear gave birth to a dwarfishly beautiful but a little too tiny a child. Nevertheless, Essiria was gladly welcomed to the previously childless marriage.
Essiria believes herself to hold a good sense of humour, although sometimes it seems that others do not. As a child she was very demanding and, quite frankly, spoiled; since she was the only child, she usually got her way. When the clan?s storyteller took Essiria as his student, she learned discipline and humbleness: her arrogance was washed away. The girl learnt the clan?s stories and had pride of those old myths and heroes that made her decide to pursue the carrier of a bard. It was, nevertheless, her deep and melodious voice that caught the storyteller?s attention. Aware of his lacking skills in the art of singing, he encouraged Essiria to seek for proper education from the land of men.
