The First Call
News begins to circulate across the Valley. The Trade Way Crisis has hit a tipping point. Two more caravans have been attacked. Wagons of food from Sestra headed to Aquor, and a separate wagon of trade goods headed from Aquor to Avanthyr were attacked and none of the goods recovered. None of the State authorities have released official statements including information on the nature of the attacks, but rumors abound that the attacks are unusual. How they are different depends on the source.
Some have begun to loudly question the efficacy of the Road Wardens, but a joint statement from Sundren City, Port Avanthyr, and the regions Temples of Helm insist the Wardens have been taking steps to broaden and improve their patrols. What is clear is the situation has come to a head. Heads of the various states seem to be scrambling to deal with what has become a serious threat to the stability of the Valley. A variety of notices calling for aid from heroes, adventurers, mercenary groups, and independent investigators paper all the major population centers. Clearly all parties wish the matter resolved quickly.
