Narroc was the youngest child of the only strongheart halfling family in Corm Orp. Not having any interest in (or talent for) pottery he spent most of his days just loafing or walking around the village being a nuisance to everyone. Only when hunting goblins in the Sunset Mountains was he ever truly happy.
Living so close to Darkhold he learned about the Zhentarim at an early age. His anger at their predations is what fueled the eldritch powers he discovered within himself. After killing his first two Zhents he was asked to leave to village for the safety of them all.
Mad at the world Narroc left, cutting a swath of destruction where ever he went (or so he would regard it; most people would call it petty vandalism). Needing to eat (and not being much of a pick pocket) he went from job to job. His disregard for authority meant that none of the jobs lasted long.
It seemed almost unavoidable that he ended up as a mercenary, travelling all over the Western Heartlands and beyond. He was never very discriminating when it came to employers, working for just about anyone except for the Zhents. His lifelong battle with the church of Bane started during this time.
On a whim he boarded a ship and ended up in Port Avanthyr.
