Well, I made this mostly because I was highly dis-satisfied with how Yashe's story came to an end on Sundren, and thus I wrote this up as the alternative... Essentially instead of going to the church and having the Devil that resided within her expelled, she simply learned to control it, and gained the upper hand... And left Sundren to return to her homeland, the Icewind Dale... Which is where this story picks off. I'm hoping that the DM's accept the concept of my new character for Sundren, which I may post a bit about here... Depending... But for now, Happy reading.
The cold winter winds buffeted the travelers cloak as she ascended into the mountain ranges of the Icewind Dale. Her bare feet slid through the snow without the slightest mark of frostbite, and her bare legs remained colored a healthy grey, a respectable tone for her kind. Nothing dared challenge her in these lands, the wildlife could sense her unholy presence approaching and scurried away as swift as they could at her sight.
The local barbarian tribes would not approach either, guided in far arcs around her path by their shamans; she could embrace the solitude of her existence with ease here. Sundren was a place of many adventures, laughs and pains for her, and she had no intent on returning again. She felt this was her home, her place of solace and calm.
She crested a final hill and immediately her reflexive nature kicked in and her body flattened into the snow, a ball of fire hummed over her head and exploded only a short distance away, her eyes traced to the direction of its origin and she saw three men, dressed in crimson robes. They were all hairless, very uniform, she could see the occasional tattoo marking their faces, but she could recognize a Luskan dog anywhere she found them.
?Can I help you?? She asked with an unnerving calm, standing back up to her feet as her wards immediately flashed up around her, a powerful aura emanated from her, and one of the three couldn?t help but withdraw a step from her. A cool smile spread across her lips. ?What could Thay possibly want with me??
The central man, his face covered with swirling dark tattoos, perhaps meant to intimidate lesser peons from shoving into his path or some such. He seemed to wait for a few seconds, choosing his words carefully, Yashe pulled back her cowl and revealed the horns on her head, her deep red eyes, which currently glowed, allowing her to note the locations of several invisible guards.
?We are going to ask you once to come with us peacefully, if you cannot comply then you will only be forcing our hand, an act which I guarantee you will regret.? He swung his staff around in a wide arch, she could feel intense magical aura?s emanating from him, though they were nothing she couldn?t handle.
?You came well prepared for a powerful Arcanist such as myself mage, I will give you that.? She closed her eyes and a small grin spread across her lips. ?But I can assure you that it will take more then your hand to capture me.? Her mind reached deep into its pits and began to call upon power which she was not normally obliged to summon forth, she twitched her hand upwards and arcane words seemed to emanate from everywhere as her smile grew. The wizards understood what was happening but there was little they could do about it, in an instant their wards were gone, and siphoned away into a visible aura around the fiendling.
?Get her! Subdue her now!? One of the two rear ones spoke, Yashe?s bones all snapped in one instant, but she remained standing, calm and unbending in the icy winds. She twitched her arm up and a gout of emerald lightning formed in the air before her and launched itself down towards the most intimidated out of the three. In an instant his body was consumed and the flesh was stripped from his bones. His screams continued for a few more moments before his body dissolved away to nothing.
Her leg lashed out towards the first warrior whom was attacking her and she followed it up with two hard punches aimed at his unprotected head. He staggered back but was far form finished, she turned and saw the flat of a great sword swinging down towards her and she raised each of her hands, the blade stopped in mid air, as the shaft of her halberd materialized in her open palms. She swung around had and slammed the axe head into his side, splitting through the armor with unholy strength.
A pair of bat like wings ripped out into the open air and in a powerful gust of wind forced the other warriors to pause. She smirked as they began to charge her once more, her two fingers twisted upwards and each and every one of them were consumed in an infernal pyre, created from nothing by her will alone.
She turned then towards the remaining two wizards, whom had stood by through the entire conflict. As the last warrior flailed to her feet and his screams died away to nothing, she froze, seemingly half way through her transformation. ?You came for nothing.? She spoke in a deliberately harsh tone; her venomous words seemed to wrack them to their core. Still the one man of Thay seemed grossly calm and simply spread his one free hand.
?We came for you.? He replied, and from out of the snow she heard a small click, and an human whom had laid there since the beginning, hidden under the ever present blanket of snow shot a dart into the small of her back. She went ridged and staggered forwards, the extra flesh on her body wilting away into a black mass, which dissolved into nothing as it splattered against the ground. She couldn?t even feel her tongue to spit her final curse at the wizard before her world was consumed in darkness.
