Afelyn's mother was a prominent, well-resprected Paladin in a small town. Her father mysteriously disappeared when she was eight, but before leaving he passed on knowledge of the family business of alchemy.
Although her mother was well-liked around the village, at home she was a tyrant who expected perfection from the sensitive Afelyn. The child's spirit was not to be broken, though, and she rebelled constantly, often fleeing into the woods for days at a time to get away from Napoleonette.
As a result, Afelyn became adept at wilderness survival. Because of her inner rage, she prefers to fight up close, even though she is adept with a bow. To supplement her food supply during her outings, she also became quite good at picking locks and pockets.
Though she is mousy and soft-spoken, she is indignent to a fault and very thin-skinned. Don't put the emphasis on the second sylible of her name lest you get, at the very least, an earful.
Afelyn will provide a talented, spirited, if unpredictable member to any party.
