  • Hogar's Report

The report that is submitted to James Frazer is written somewhat messily, with some places being evident where multiple attempts at phrasing, perhaps the spelling of certain words, or things were added. The report does not contain the usual accent that Hogar carries, though his way of speaking still seems to carry over.

Job Offered by the Right Hand

To tell about how the city fell, I need to start at the beginning, with the job that was being offered by the Right Hands. They had found a place where a few Left Hand Archmagi were hiding out, and were looking for a bit of extra help to make sure they’d be able to handle them. So I and Ansellus de Vesci went to where the Right were gathering to make a move on the Left. There we found some lady that was later called Chime by some of those who would join us at the gate after we’d left the Left Hand compound. Anyways, back to where we were. There was also a Legion soldier there, seemed to be a mage who was getting cold feet about heading in. Zachart Carshall was also there at the Right Hand position. We were told of the situation, that we’d be trying to get into the Left Hand compound using a portal, and that we were going after the Sinister Trickster. After Chime and Zachart talked the Legionnaire into staying with us, we went into the portal with a group of Right Hand mages, among which were an Elite Magus and an Archmagus.

When we went through the portal, we found ourselves apparently not where the portal was supposed to go. There was a bridge to the other side of the gap between the platform we wound up on and the walls of the room. When we tried to cross the bridge, we found there was some weird looking person standing there, who said that he was the Sinister Trickster’s manservant. We had a short chat with him, where he said we’d be faced with some riddles and puzzles since we weren’t invited. Well, the riddles were to find a way past some ice cold lava that could still melt metal, figure out a way off of a long bridge that didn’t seem to lead anywhere, and to figure out how to get some of us out of a cell that magically kept us in when our weight left it. After that, we ran to the last floor. It was then that I started hearing voices in my head telling me to attack the others, and I couldn’t resist them. I woke up soon after, and was told that I’d come under the control of another. We left the place, and found that the Right Hands who had been left to assault the compound were dead, and that the City was under attack.

We ran as quickly as possible to go help the Legion forces. When we got to the Gate, the others who had joined in to help save the city met up with us, and we found that a good part of the Legion’s forces defending the Gate had been brought under the Enchantress Edaphrial’s control. We worked to capture her, and in the process, I ended up falling under her control. After that got sorted out with her being turned to stone, we went up into the city to see what we could do there.

It was a right mess, with a bunch of jerks that looked like the Sinister Trickster’s manservant causing trouble there. Someone had the idea to go check the Sundrite Reactors for one of the Left Hand Archmagi, so we went off there. Along the way, we ran into some of their students and some iron golems. When we got into the reactor room, we found a Mage, think someone said their name was Severrax. After dealing with him, the mages among us saw to trying to stabilize the reactor, and said that we were going to have to set down. The mages did what they had to, while I and Ansellus saw to keeping any trouble away. One of the mages gave their life in order to help the city come back to ground easier. I think his name was Aeron Ancrath, or something like that. The Mages who were left brought the city down as gently as they could, and after that we climbed out to see what all we could do.

    And that’s what happened.
We can axe if we want to, leave that sword behind. Because your friends don't axe, and if they don't axe then they're no friends of mine.
