  • Arise Cheapside

    As the sun rises each morning over the cheapside district, a woman would emerge from one of the apartments, lightly armored and without carrying a weapon, instead carrying the staff of her station as she would move into the swelling crowds of displaced, neglected and rebellious. There was a brightness to her presence, a vitalizing warmth that shined out from her iconography that seemed to displace shadows from her and made the glow of the morning sun all the more vibrant upon her cupid face, her auburn hair, and her mithril armor.

    She traveled without the protection of her deities wards laid upon her, and her prayers each morning are reserved for the creation of food, the purifying of water, and healing the sick. And from the moment the sun rose, to the moment it set she would travel, using mundane means and miracles to cure these problems. The woman would remark each time to those who were touched by her miracles;

    "A new dawn comes, and Lathander will ever care for each of you."
    "Today is a good day to start anew."
    "Do not forget your faith in your fellows, as well as those above."
    "Be kind to eachother, and many more will make it through to see the sunrise."

    When asked her name, she would answer; "Lynnette Aurelianus" though in an uncharacteristic way, she would not demand her title be used to address her, or even introduce herself with it. She'd answer pessimism and chastising with optimism and humble acceptance, her purpose ultimately was as simple as the work she was choosing to perform each morning; to heal the wounded, cure the sick, and feed the hungry.

    The sun dawned as remarkably as it did on any morning, brilliant rays fighting against the gloom of cheapside to pierce the veil and shine warming light upon those living there. Again, the priestess rose and stepped out into the district, confronted and then respectfully allowed in by the legion, she began her morning routine much as she had any other.

    This time however there was a shift in the situation, but a few blessings and fed mouths in she rounded a corner to find a pair of wagons bursting with food, and under blackwood guard. A noble, bare recognition clicking in her mind from her studies of the noble families in Sundren... He introduced himself to jog her memory, Lord Zenten. The show went on, and he announced that he would provide food to any who would part with precious heirlooms. Her brow furrowed and she became in part enraged at the prospect, the contents of the wagon were immediately suspect to her... But taking advantage of some of the poorest in the district?

    Lynnette Aurelianus peeled through the crowd and confronted Lord Zenten with her most genuine face, thinking instead to the people who needed the help, rather then the lord who would put them down. She negotiated the cost of the wagons, the fee asked was grotesque, though Lynnette negotiated it back down tactfully, never once losing her temper or allowing her calm to be taken. In the end, Zenten left without the wagons, and Lynnette cleansed the crates of their contents, purifying them wholly. The blackwood departed and the morninglord turned to the crowd, casting a simple deterrent on herself to keep her safe. She pleaded to the crowd to remember their fellows and remember to help each other in this time, and not turn on one another. The crowds reaction was inspiring, taking pause from rushing the unprotected wagons, and instead approaching in lines... Taking their fair share before departing in an orderly fashion. Some took pause to request Lathander's blessings or healing, which she provided happily, until both the wagons, and she were exhausted of everything they had. Then, as peacefully and quietly as she had come to cheapside, she left.
