  • A letter to her father, from Adara

A letter is scribed in a beautiful hand on expensive paper. It seems to be a letter home but is fairly straight forward and lacks emotion.

    Father
I arrived in Sundren as commanded, my husband is now by my side, which is most advantagous in this flea infested pit. The city is quite large and we have taken resident in a small tavern, not as comfortable as one is used to but it will do until our supplies arrive.
Our investigations have begun in a place called the Sharahan Hills. It is overrun by goblins and the miners do not have the power to rise against the tide. The camp is protected by a band of so-called adventurers, who try to rid the land of the goblins. I find it most humourous that these do-gooders risklife and limb for no real gain. The goblins return on mass despite their attempts.
We have begun to gather information. When I have anything of note to report I shall indeed write again. There are some who have attempted to cross us, but we will make them fear us and strike them down.
Vale treats me well and we have found places to hone our skills. I am improving in battle everyday. Vale seems pleased with my progress.

    Until my next letter

    A request to home

The letter is short but to the point

    Father,
Things move as planned. We have met some interesting people here, one in particular, who may aid us in our move.
I need supplies, money and possibly retainers to help us.
I await your response, please reply post haste.

A delivery of heads for the garden

Four large boxes arrive at the house of Adara's father. One of the house servants begrudgingly opens them, knowing what will be inside. Contained in one of the boxes is a letter adressed to her father. The servant delivers the note personally and tends to the treatment of the boxes contents.

      Father
I hope this letter finds you capable of your duties. I thank you for the excellent sword you sent for Vale. It suits him perfectly.
I have sent part of my latest collection. I have been having much fun gathering them. I think they shall look lovely in my garden. Please command the servant to desplay the Ogre Chieftans head at the forefront. He died with a rather amausing look on his face as you shall see.
Our sight seeing tour has been most interesting. Please find enclosed some detailed drawings of the miners camp and the forest boarder camp. I have noted all points of interest carefully as requested.

      Your devoted daughter
