  • The Thayan Rebuttal

Lacking the ability to address the public, the Thayans resort to posting flyers around the valley, especially in the vicinity of the Port.

    "People of Sundren,
It is with heavy heart that we write in response to the recent proclamations of Lady Meriadoc. It is true that we refused to beg help from the Triumvirate, but what the Lady neglected to mention is why. While I bear no love for the organization, I could look beyond my own petty squabbles if it would serve. The people of Aquor, however, cannot endure another pitched battle in their streets. No other city of Sundren has had to withstand such constant conflict, and we believe the city would not survive a clash between two zealotus religious groups. While churches and nobles are arguing over who gets the land, we are doing what we can to shelter the people who seem ignored in the strife.

The ban and embargo of our people and goods from the city only further exacerbates the plight of these poor souls. We are not frequent guests of Avanthyr, nor do we do much in the way of trade. Our recent transactions have been limited to donations to the sanctuary of Ilmater by the docks. We will respect the proclamation and cease these offerings, but we urge any who were reliant on this aide to come to Aquor; you will not find our gates shut to you regardless of political climate.

Do not believe all the slander, common folk of the valley. The Enclave is a business before all else, and a business needs patrons. You are the victims and currency of politics, but you are the lifeblood of business. We, at least, do not try to sway you with bold proclamations and whores.

    High Arcanist Sandro
    Thayan Enclave, Aquor"
I can't slow down, I can't hold back though you know I wish I could. No there ain't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good!

Lucious is seen handing out flyers with Romar the Gladiator, to travelers on the roads to and from the Port.

Lucious reminds Romar that if he does a good job at handing out the flyers he might just get a new set of armor without spikes on the inside of the suit.

Caesius can be seen in Aquor and at the Second Wind Inn with a frustrated face after the recent proclamation and rebuttal. He would even go so far as to comment on the situation.

"The only people that have been hurt by this proclamation are those that seek aid from the Sanctuary and those that make a living off of trading. It's such a shame that pride has to get in the way of business."

One such flyer is examined by an elf in grue and bleen attire, who examines it for a minute before smirking and continuing on with his day.

"An interesting parry, Professor Crimson, and a well considered preparation. Philanthropy for the ulterior motive of philanthropy, quite the maneuver. I suppose we shall next discover how many of your opponents came to a similar conclusion."

If anyone looks into the Sanctuary to see how the withdraw of Thayan donations has hurt the Ilmatari missionaries, they would see little differance. The Sanctuary seems to be well stocked, if short handed.

"Oh, no we're d-doing quite well. Ser Drake has taken over where the Thayan Enc-clave left off." Sister Abigail looks tired though, and fatigue is plain on all four of the volunteers at the temple.

"If we lack for anything its help. I could u-use another healer or two to help in the infirmary. Im h-hopeful that the Triumvirite will send us a volunteer from the city. I spoke with Father Melchoir a-about it, and im hopeful he'll help."

Some people rock on their chairs on a porch in what's left of the once glorious Aquor.

"If they have folk's best interests at heart, they should dump their slaves 'stead of keepin' 'em locked up with dog men. Bloody crap all this announcin' shite. Like we care 'bout the damn Port when we ain' got shite here ta begin wit'!"

"Yeah, they could magic us up some clothin' an' food, 'least. ... Wait...I heard some of they slaves is them Black Elves."

"Well... they can keep those ones locked up I guess... Look at tha' fancy Enclave up there while we in wreck an' ruin.... Damn Reds. Damn Port. Damn Sundren. I'm movin' te Neverwinter."

"Think I'll stay 'ere, but good on ya."
