(I do not have a source for this one. I wish I did because I love the work. If anyone knows who did this painting please let me know so I can properly give credit. I found this work off a general internet search of images and I have changed several small things on it.)

    Name: Kindra Valentine
    Race: Human

    Age: 19
    Height / Weight: 5’4 / 115 Lb
    Hair: Coppery red
    Eyes: A bright blue
Skin: Pale with the white scars of many battles across various parts of her body.

Scars/disfigurements: Her left hand bears the mark of corruption. The flesh is raw and burnt. Boils and rot will form oozing pustules along the perfectly outlined mark of Gargauth in the center of her palm unless it is cleaned twice a day, every day. The mark is obviously painful for her though she seems use to the pain by now. (The exact symbol on her hand is not common knowledge and it is always covered by her glove when in public.)

Description: Kindra is an honest woman who does not put herself forward. She is reserved in social settings and a somewhat shy around people she does not know well. Something of a follower, she does not seem to feel any great need to be in charge and will often defer to the highest ranking person or most experienced in any group or situation.

Life began for Kindra Valentine when she was ten. Oh, I don’t mean that she appeared as a ten year old girl. She certainly did not simply appear. No, I only mean that she was someone else before, someone different. Though, to be honest, not even Kindra could quite tell you who exactly she had been back then. Nor does she give it much thought anymore. For her, life began the day Duncan Valentine signed the paperwork that gave her the name of Valentine.

Not that life has been easy for her. The terror of the night her family died still touches her dreams even after so many years. Sometimes, when she is alone in the dark, her mind flashes back to a time when flames raced up the wooden beams. The blinding spread of orange and red light mixed with thick, acrid smoke. Sometimes there is a woman screaming for her to run and the terrible crash of timbers falling.

Before Duncan she could not bear to sleep. But there had been many things she could not bear before she was Kindra Valentine. After she became someone new, the world opened up to her. She was accepted as a ward in one orphanage ran by a small Chapter House dedicated to Torm. Later, as she and her new brother learned about the True, it seemed only natural to become a novice in the faith. After her previous life of uncertainly, the ridged structure and prescribed litanies were like a soothing balm to her soul. Order exploded into life around her and she could not help but see how much better life was now.

She devoted herself to her new life, finding a curious sort of happiness in obedience. She was a talented healer and it seemed Torm had especially blessed her when it came to working with the wounded. Her teachers considered her prized student despite the fact that she was one of the only female novice at the time. When she finally became a priestess of Torm, her brother rejoiced with her. She could hear his voice above all the others singing the hymn of hope, despite the fact that he was not a member of the clergy. They has celebrated together after she completed the Holy Vigil, excitedly discussing their first official assignments.

When Duncan was given leadership of a small patrol assigned to keep one of the western roads free of bandits. She had promptly asked to be assigned to his team. She was an experienced healer and many believed that she had been especially blessed by Torm. Her prayers of healing always seemed to be a bit stronger than the other priests in the Chapter House. Many took this as a sign. For several weeks she was questioned on her decision. Kindra always believed that her duty and loyalty was to her brother first, and it seemed only natural to her that her obedience to his commands should be his as well. In the end, her request to join Duncan’s command was approved.

The two of them spent a year working together and in spite of all the dust and sleepless nights, she was happy. But she could see that Duncan was not. It might have escaped Kinda’s notice that their patrol was given only the mildest of assignments, but it did not escape Duncan’s. So when her brother came to her and told her that they were leaving, she never questioned him. She reported to the Vigilant in charge of her, and put in her request to be taken from duty roster. This request caused a minor incident, but Kindra was resolute. If Duncan was leaving, then she would not be left behind. She begged and pleaded until she was placed on the roster as a wandering priestess. And that was how, after several months of travel, she found herself in Sundren.
