Quintin returns home with exciting news for his family, although he feels nervous to give it. His thoughts race, his heart beats wildly. He's never felt like this before, and he fears his brother will do as he often does, and seek to embarrass him about it. Upon arriving home, he is happily surprised for this day to be one of the rare few when both his Father and his Brother are present, along with his Mother who is always at home. They do not often get to gather as a family like this, so there is a minor celebration as they sit and eat and drink.
As the celebration winds down, Quintin clear's his throat and looks to his beloved family, standing.
"I actually do have an announcement. Over the past many months, I have been undergoing a change in regards to my former thoughts upon marriage. As you know, before I said I was always too busy and did not overly care much for the thought of being married, but I met someone who has changed all of that. Father, you and Brother are probably at least mildly aware of one of the former Brigadiers of Blackwood, Julia Arvison. Well, due to a falling out with Hellstrom, with her morals being at odds with their wishes, she is no longer in their employ."
He takes a breath, continuing. "Recently, we've spoken about the matter, and I took a leap of faith and proposed to her, and she, to my hearts joy, accepted. We've not decided on much beyond deciding to be married, such things as a date or a place are something we are still debating. However, I wanted to be the one to tell my family in person, before you heard the news from any other source."
He continues as his family has, more then likely, a mixture of surprise at his announcement and happiness in their son's decision to finally settle down. "I truly do love her, and she has returned my love in kind. She's strong and brave, if sometimes a bit overly brave when prudence is called for. She has such strong morals and ethics, so much so that she would rather lose the opportunity for massive profit and prestige by being named one of Blackwood's Guild Elite, then betray her loyalty to her friends that the promotion required of her. I couldn't ask for a better partner, and better companion, then she. I hope that, time permitting and if we can avoid unfriendly eyes, I can manage to bring her home to meet all of you very soon."
The celebration resumes anew, his family happy to see him finally settling down, although his father likely would have preferred that he settle down with someone other then a former mercenary, he is still nevertheless happy for his son.
