  • Journal of a Banite

Sundren is such a curious place. It's entire economy is on the basis of trade, they are fueled primarily by the ore sundrite, which seems to have many unique properties.

Despite this land being some two hundred years old, I find it still rather ripe for the picking. Our efforts to infiltrate into parts of the government and their watch has been most successful. Despite the Triumvirate and Helmite's dedication in eradicating our presence we are right under their noses sometimes.

I know Bane is watching, our Dark Lord has great plans for Sundren, the other day I saw a powerful Blackguard at the Temple, he was a Dark Templar. Bane had bestowed this man with such great power, he stood tall in Dark Clad full plate, and wielded a jagged bastard sword that made the hair on my spine tingle just being near it. I sometimes question why we don't simply assault Sundren directly with the power of the greatest god on our side, however this is Bane's will.

My job is clearly set forth for me, I must find more faithful to Bane, and allow his ranks to increase larger than before... Cyric is a small threat, the mad god was merely an ignorrant theif when Lord Bane himself had already conquered more than Cyric could ever imagine.

I have been forbidden to write her name, so I shall only call her "Sorceress". Her devotion to our Dark Lord is true, her power absolute. I suppose that is why she is the guiding hand of Bane here in Sundren. Her dark soul enticies me, for her beauty is almost unholy in nature, surely enough to make even the most righteous man question his allegiances. She has no interest in me... not yet... not until Bane bestows me with his power and I prove my worth.

Day by day I train, I grow stronger with each battle, more experienced... I had a vision the other night, of blood and death. At the centre was Bane, and her and I were standing by his side, his loyal, his faithful dark servants... Ready to spread his power and dominion over this place, and one day-- all Faerun.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
