  • A Letter to Whurest Elders

*A letter is delivered to the Whurest halls from Cranky McGillicutty, from the Blackwood Company.*

To whoever wants to read this letter,

My name is Cranky McGillicutty and I am a Blackwood Mercenary. I was walking about the Mossdale forest, doing a bit of snoop and scoot, when I heard a damn loud noise. Being a curious Hin, I moved over to where the noise was coming from. I snuck up on some right big bastard Orcs, who was guarding a very big forge. It looks like they are producing armor and weapons.

My question is, do you want to commission the Blackwood to see what is what and maybe destroy the damn forge? They may be making the stuff for their own Pig like people, or maybe they want to flood the market with bad armor and such.

You can send me a note at the Blackwood at the Port.

    Cranky.

((OOC: this coincides with the RP run I am trying to coordinate for this coming Sunday.))

Two well-penned responses makes their way through the caravan routes. Both contain the same contents, however, one finds its way to Cranky and the other to Julia:

    Cranky,

Whurest applauds your awareness of Bloodmaim activity and your willingness to risk your safety to see the Bloodmaim contained.

Your offer is a curious one. Typically a contract has a benefit for both parties. In yours, however, I see only your expedition benefiting. I say this as we have our own mighty warbands who patrol Mossdale.

If you are in need of a contract perhaps you can look into one we already have open with Blackwood Company. As we cannot be sure who has seen these letters, I will let your leadership fill you in on any details afforded to you.

    Stone keep you.

*Cranky finds the letter outside his door at the Menacing Mariner Inn. He opens the missive and begins to read*

"Well, I will be a damn fool, but that wasn't the response I expected," he exclaimed. "I guess the fool Dwarves can fetch and carry for themselves. I guess I need to branch out and make me own money. Well, if there ain't no customer, then there ain't no reason to go to mossdale."

OOC - without a reason to go to Mossdale, the RP event for Sunday is cancelled.

        Crank,

*Cranky finds the missive at the Blackwood HQ, within the Port*

"By damn, I think this will be a fun exercise and I do need a bit of coin. I better get me supplies and get ready for this here venture!"
