I decided to go with a human female barbarian. Only dreaming up the character, though. When this semester is over, I'll probably have more time to think about the background story and her personality, and maybe write something down.

Oh Sarya... this should be interesting. I didn't expect you to go for this. The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Hehe... What else can be expected from someone that lives in the cold, dark, wolf infested woods of Finland
Nahh, just messing with you. I am sure its going to be interessting to meet the char in-game. Not only that, I have several adventures that suits a barbarian in my so-called grey sluggish mass for a brain.
Rogue Player: Ok, I'll tell you what. I'll give you one gold for every door you open here in Undermountain.
Fighter Player: Hmmm..you got yourself a deal
DM: *grins*
*Actual happening in PnP D&D*

She was born in the frozen lands on the shores of the Sea of Moving Ice. First born of the twin-sisters, she would be the strength of the clan whereas her sister would hold the wisdom. Her duty would be to protect her sister and secure the clan?s survival. Her clan was last of the old ones to have a matrilineal order of succession in the whole tribal system. Their clan was also the smallest as well as the poorest one.
Almost as one the sisters shared every aspect of their life together. However, regardless of their tight connection, the girls were brought up knowing their own responsibilities. For Silka, the path had already been laid. She would do the same as her for-mothers had done before her.
They started to inure her, teach her the northern way of life. Living in the frozen lands, they followed the Cold Goddess. It was the clan?s duty to please the Frostmaiden. By following Auril?s priests, Silka?s clan thought to keep her satisfied. The clan, however, had kept even older traditions of nature worship, a fact kept well hidden from the priesthood of the Cold Goddess. Implementing the older traditions to Auril worship every newborn was given a totem animal. They believed that these totems ensured nature?s balance and protected the clan members, and Silka, too, was given a totem. Her totem was a powerful one. She would be cunning, fast, dangerous, but also caring to her close ones. Her totem was the wolverine, the glutton.
Her grandmother was still the head of the clan, and Silka, her mother and her sisters lived in the chief?s hut along with the clan?s greatest fighters. She intended to become the best of them all. She knew that when her sister would inherit the leadership she would become her second in command. But that was still long in the future and first she and her sister should pass the maturity rite.
As part of the nature worship, maturity rite was held far away from the village. The rite would be conducted by her grandmother. All young ones had to pass the rite in order to gain adulthood and a rightful place in the clan. The head of the clan would send them to their journey: with only the clothes and weapons on them, they should track down their totem animal, follow and observe its life from new moon to full moon. By living in the environment of the totem animal, they should understand and absorb the animal?s relationship to nature. The young should return on an exact moment to get a blessing from the chief. If they did not return, they would be grieved as dead and would not be allowed to be part of the clan even if they returned later on. After a failure, the outsiders either left the clan and tribal lands to find their own path, or accepted their fate and prepared to die. No clan in the whole tribal system would take them to their clan after a failure.
At the age of 20 it was Silka?s time to survive or die. She had waited for that day eagerly.I have come so far.. Crawled away from the corner of your eye..
