A lone, dark silhouette slowly ascended the mountainside; it's movements frail, feeble.. tenuous. What once was a man - a warrior - was now nothing but a mere shadow of his former self. Upon reaching the zenith of the mountain, the pallid figure looked out across the landscape.
The sun was soon setting upon the western horizon. In mere moments, the darkened celestial sphere would would give rise; much like a backlit canopy with countless holes punched in it. Saying farewell to Sol, the figure procured an irregularly-shaped vial from his belongings. He removed the vial's cork; the flask's contents still visible through the remaining light as dusk approached. The crimson fluid danced wildly in the ampoule, diffusing an enticing and irresistible scent of exotic and wild spices.
Looking down at the vial, the figure paused for what seemed an eternity. Countless thoughts blazed through his mind; the rumination of previous violent events could not escape his thoughts. The only escape from his mental torment was the liquid..
