  • Cant for Twins

Kali looks at Kari. "This is difficult, we came to Sundren looking for our brother." She stretches her fingers in ways she never thought they'd move. "I know you say this form of sign language is simple, and I'm starting to get most of it but may damn fingers ache." She thinks a bit, "I hope I can learn it so we can join up together. You said it would be better that way."

She looks at her twin, "people never can tell us apart." she says. "Will this help us in the long run?" She thinks of her brother and the long blonde pony tail he grew before he left home almost two years ago. Kari and Kali both have his hair color. "Oww, I'm trying Kali, you make it look so easy. Is that the right gesture?'

Kari sighs and gives her sister a bemused look. "No, no. Thats telling someone you are a Waterhavian pineapple. C'mere, let me see em," she states, motioning to Kali's aching fingers. Clasping the abused digits, she intones a short prayer to Silvanus as a faint glow eminates from her hands. "That should feel a bit better. Now, watch closely."

The cleric slowly facepalmed at Kali's next attempt, stopping her twin mid-phrase. "I guess we need to find another way to figure this out." Kari taps her chin a couple times. "Ok. Think of it like a spell. It's like a stomatic portion of a spell: take your time, try to feel what you want to communicate, and if mess up, something could go terribly wrong." She gives her sister a little smile, "No pressure though. See about trying it again."

Kali watches as her Twin deftly moves her fingers and hands in spiraling twisting motions. As the ache in her own fingers stops she thinks of her next gestures in terms like the somantics of the spells she learned so quickly. "Thanks for the blessing on my hands Kari." she says as she starts to immitate what her sister just showed her. She stops thinking so hard, closes her eyes and lets the movement flow through her.

She opens her eyes. "Was that better? Or am I still a pinneapple?" she laughs at her sisters joke. After a few thoughtful moments she says "You know, when we find our brother... what do we tell him? He told us to never follow him here."

She tries the Cant again as her Twin showed her, this time feeling more at ease with the gestures that few can fathom. She had been working on this with Kari for weeks, now it seems like it may working. At least she hopes that look in her Twins eyes means that it is.
