The young vampiress made her way down the road, her figure shrouded in darkness. It was well past midnight, but she was certain there would still be someone walking about. Some hapless adventurer she could take advantage of, and take what was rightfully hers. Though it was more than likely she'd run into the paladin, Dain Tornbrook. He had a habit of patrolling the roads that were often left unlooked at by the Legionaires, the ones she and others of her kind used to their advantage.
She purposely stayed away from the City proper this night, not wanting to have another meeting with the Legionaire who was soon becoming a sharp thorn in her side.

"He is not there," the blonde haired woman spoke sharply to her. Ruby stood in next to the pond in the Military Ward, her eyes focused on the building in front of her, the Sundren Comfort at her back. "And you should not be here either," the blonde woman added. Ruby retorts with a scoff, and shifts to face the other woman. The two were a stark contrast, the Legionaire with her blonde hair and tanned skin, the vampiress bearing pale white skin and blood red hair. The two women were of the same height, almost looking at each other eye to eye. Though the Legionaire didn't let her gaze linger too long on the eyes of the vampire, not wishing to be put at risk of falling prey under her gaze.
"You do realize you are standing around a group of Legionaires, yes?" Emiliana tells Ruby. Ruby lifts a shoulder in a shrug, waving a hand dismissively, "They do not bother me. You have been the only one to see through my disguise right now. Plus, I could likely very well kill them all before they finish me off."
"I said leave." Emiliana repeats, her hand moving to lightly touch the sword at her side. Ruby gives the other woman a wicked grin, and gives a small half bow in a mocking gesture, "I will leave for now. But just remember how easily I entered here, and think about how I could hide myself among the commoners here." A man had then stumbled upon the pair, the banter between the two ending as Emiliana speaks tersely to the man as Ruby turns and walks out of the City.
Before she leaves, she pauses in front of the same building she had been watching before, giving it a lingering look before she continues on out.
-----
As she stalked the road, she found her thoughts drifting to the other night. His words were sweet upon her ears, his hand resting lightly against her back. He spoke of power. He knew just what to say to catch her interest, and get her to agree to help him. She was not stupid, nor was she naive, but the promise of having someone at her side to rule beside her was good enough to get her to agree.
She speaks the same words to herself as she walks as she had said to him as they talked in the Citadel, "You better not betray me."
