  • Unwanted *not just a name*

    First Name: Unwanted Banson

Appearance: Pigment-less skin, hair and eyes.
    Race:Human
Age: Difficult to tell, possaily in his 40's (yet actually only in his early 20's)
    Height 6'
    Weight: 160
    Eyes: Pale
    Hair: Long, white and unkempt

Personality Profile: little to no hygiene or grooming
General Health: Very poor. Weak and sickly, scarred through out his whole body.
Deity: Colibrus; He was given to the monastery of Tyr and spent his early years as a monk in its care. Yet his off-putting appearance caused such fear and mistrust that he never felt any loyalty to Tyr.
Initial Alignment: LE, Intelligent enough to see the need to get along and work with others. Yet his own goals are all that really matter to him. Any obstacle to them will be met with treachery and violence.
Profession: Recently run away from the the monastery of Tyr, holding 1000gp he felt was owed to him. Now that he's free to choose, there is only one occupation for him; If the world will not accept him he will make his own world. Where he is the father of his won family.... even if they are all undead minions. He serves a cleric of Colibrus, who lives in a cave and studies the undead. To the priest Unwanted is just a minion who happens to be alive. This relation ship works for both of them as they don't have to pretend to be thoughtful or polite when together.
Base Class & Proposed Development: Monk/Cleric/MoS
Habits/Hobbies:Picking scabs and talking to himself
Languages: Common. Having no aptitude for book learning or any real desire to speak at all.
Weapon of Choice: Most any ranged weapon, or bare handed. not that he is very good at any kind of physical fighting.

Background: A pariah from birth he was feared and rejected even by his parents. Set at the steps of the city's monastery of Tyr. Though not cast out, he was always unwelcome. Branded with the name left to him in a note pinned to his blanket "Unwanted" Even then the priests feared he may be a son of bane, he was also called "bane's son" shortend to Banson to hide their cruel joke. He just calls himself Banson, though he feels Unwanted has helped him see others for the cruel animals they truely are.
Having fled the monks oppressive monastery Banson had no home or even the skills to survive alone on the land. Until he wandered into the cave of a hermit cleric of Colibrus. Assuming Banson was some sort of apparition or undead summons he had forgotten to release. Yet when he saw the truth the old cleric couldn't believe his luck. An apprentice to run errands and experiment on. after all if something went wrong who would miss the boy.
Swearing fealty to the blood god, Banson also felt he had found his purpose. Though there was no affection between master and servant Banson was fascinated at the world that had opened up to him. His life's purpose began to take shape. No one would ever accept him, that much was clear but who needed them? One day he would have all the company he could want, with his undead summons. If commoners feared him anyway he would give them good reason.

Goals:Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Banson will want to study undead and the power to control it. As he ages he thinks more and more of becoming an undead himself. To live forever and watch the monasteries and towns crumble over the eons seems the greatest irony he could imagine. He, who was unwanted. Always knowing that neglect and mistreatment would shorten his days. To out live them all. Even have a hand in their end.
    - Anyone from his home city (where he took the gold) or from the monastery/clergy of Tyr could feel he needs to be put down.
    - He is always looking for a way to get in Colibrus' good graces. (he admires Colibrus, and envies him)
    - He could even be given a reason not to hate or mistrust others so much. Passably backing off a little on the evil.

please let me know what you think about this bio. if i'm still being too ambitous for a first charactor on a new server i can just be a "good fighter type" to ease in.
i just kind of like this weirdo.

It sounds interesting. Just keep in mind that any build using one level of monk for the wisdom bonus to AC will probably end up being asked to restart.

I agree with GD, a single level of monk is a no-no, even with an ic justification.

It also wouldn't work with your NE alignment. Monks require lawful.

i ment LE, just a typo.
i was going more monk. he lived there for years.
but if it still breaks some rule you like, let me know if it can be worked with.

There's no hard and fast rule as such, just that taking a single monk level is frowned upon with certain classes (mostly cleric and druid) if you're going for more than one then that's fine.

If you just want to be a martial arts cleric, the Sacred Fist is perfect for that. Granted, without dipping into monk it has a pretty steep feat cost.

I would encourage you to research this PrC. It is really a fun build with a lot of RP possibilities.

                Cheers!
